You know things are bad when receiving your PFO feels slightly positive in that they deem you worthy of a response!

Got mine today too. Congrats to everyone else who got their acknowledgment today! :}

VFE.

I'm Off! 10th November 2010 18:55

PFO for me too. Not even retained for future opportunities. Guess the market really is saturated...!!

Good luck to the guys who did get an invite though.

Wodka 10th November 2010 19:03

Did anybody have a positive reply from BACF?? I had the below:

I am pleased to confirm that your application has been successful at screening stage. However due to the vast amount of applications we received for this position, we were unable to secure you a place on the assessment days.

We would like to keep your application on file should any future assessment days arise in the future. If you situation changes and you no longer wish to remain on hold for a future assessment with us please contact us so we update our records accordingly.

MAB :ooh:

PAPI-74 11th November 2010 15:23

Mine has just landed.
I must admit I am relieved, as becoming a wonnabe Nigel isn't high on my list to be honest.

towser 11th November 2010 16:08

PAPI-74 ; If your relieved why did you bother applying?

PAPI-74 11th November 2010 16:15

Cos the offer I am now taking wasn't on the table.

727Man 11th November 2010 18:36

anyway been reading the thread with interest, got my PFO also.

Modular
F/O 1500 hrs Jet, FE 7300 hrs, Over 20 years aviation experience and a PFO.:E!!

Dreamshiner 11th November 2010 19:58

I wonder if the applicants who got "not interested just now but we'll retain your details if that's OK?" backgrounds are compared to the "PFO, don't darken our door again .... Security!", don't know if any of those pilots would like to outline them?

Training: Modular or Integrated
Hours total to date:
FI qualification: yes or no
Already TR'd, if so what type:
British citizen: yes or no

Would be interesting to see if there was a common factor.

As for me, I got the PFO:

Modular
1,200
No
B757/767
yes

Phenom100 12th November 2010 01:30

Deano777 12th November 2010 08:28

Guys

For the dumb people amongst us (i.e. me), what does PFO stand for?

Thanks :E

stue 12th November 2010 08:44

PFO - Please F**k Off

maxalphaboy 12th November 2010 10:33

Hi Guys,

I know there has been some interest in peoples experience levels, including mine. I have no problem at all sharing. In answer please see below. Sorry to those who on this occasion where not successful.

Training: Modular SSP
Hours total to date: 2000+
FI qualification: No
Already TR'd, if so what type: Q400
British citizen: Yes

I have been flying for 6 years and commercially for 3 years, UK and Europe.

It seems from what I have been reading, in my humble opinion that there is no real standard type of applicant. As always in aviation recruitment I feel it depends on so many factors of which I will never understand.

Hope this insight helps.

Good luck :ok:
