You are very lucky....

Did you return to the old company Dan? Are you on a permanent contract or is it summer only? How has it compared to the previous experience, and where do you think you'll go next?

I did return in the end but only in July after turning it down in March. It is only a summer contract. Obviously things can change but at the moment it will end on the 30th of October!!

I had got to a point where i hadn't flown for 18 months, out of currency and dare i say it missed it like crazy!!...It was either go for it or probably never come back to flying. A big risk but there does seem to be some optimism returning, the worst case is back either on another contract or possible full-time by April 2011 if they continue to carry on losing guys to the sand as well.

For what it is worth i can now look at flying in a slightly different light after being out of it for 18 months, there is no doubt it is far from perfick but there are definitely harder ways to make a living, I just hope I can find a way to stay in it with some continuity and security in the future.
