Barbara Cassani for easyjet

As everyone is aware the current management at easyland, are failing in there duty to the fair paying passenger, crew and the easyjet name.

The crew would welcome Barbara Cassani as a replacement for AH. We under the guidance of BC could return to the efficient, profitable number one low cost carrier we once were. an airline who care about and provide a service the passengers would relish.

This is a note for BC Aplly apply apply we want you!!!!!

kick the tires 6th January 2010 17:06

seconded!

PS can you come a bit sooner than July?

F14 6th January 2010 17:07

I heard she was looking into being the next CEO of Ryanair, MoL says he's off in 2012.

I think Warwick Brady is up for the Easyjet job.! Unless he is going back to the Taliban:eek:

Barbara Cassini for Easy

Could not agree any more!..Had the pleasure of working for her in the good old "GO" days. She knew how to keep the troops happy and run a tight, profitable ship and was highly respected by everyone...not like the present mob of illfits. Please come back Barbara and and change the name to GO Airlines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

u0062 6th January 2010 17:19

ok nows the time for a snowball effect (forgive the pun) we need as many people as possible to call for this to happen. Spread the word if we want a future at easyjet then we must ensure we get the best possible person BC

we need to let the board and share holders know if BC comes on board they will get there bonuses and there dividends.

The orange house will have a future.

blackred1443 6th January 2010 17:21

ABC - Anybody but Cor, he's clearly unable to count hence the reason we now need wet leases.

From what i hear about barbara cassani she seems more than capable of showing the current bunch of buffoons how its done.

student88 6th January 2010 17:25

How do we get in contact with her?

FlyingOfficerKite 6th January 2010 18:53

According to Wikipedia, and to add some vuel to the fire:

On September 24, 2007 Cassani became the new chairman of the board at Vueling Airlines, replacing Jose Miguel Abab Silvestre, who resigned abruptly citing "managerial differences." Vueling is a three year old airline based in Barcelona, Spain, whose share value in the stock market had dropped by 30% earlier in 2007. Board members Jose Creuheras Margenat and Ferran Conti Penina also resigned.[6]

Barbara Cassani was appointed Executive Chairperson of Jurys Inn hotels in 2008.
Insofar as Vueling Airlines is concerned (slightly confusingly?!):

In June 2008, Vueling and Clickair announced their intention to merge.[4] In January 2009, Iberia a minority shareholder in Clickair announced it would take over the merged airline and gradually integrate the airline into the Iberia Airlines identity.[5]

In mid-July of 2009 the merger of Vueling and Clickair was completed.[6] The new merged airline operates under the Vueling brand. It has become Spain's second largest carrier flying more than 10 million passengers a year to almost 50 destinations.
Maybe (or maybe not) she will have completed her stint in Spain in the near future?

Wishful thinking chaps.
Perhaps veuling will take over easyjet!

u0062 6th January 2010 21:33

Its time for BC to come home. With her in charge easyjet would become the southwest of europe.

The orange flag would rule the waves.

TheBeak 6th January 2010 21:35

he's clearly unable to count hence the reason we now need wet leases.
Are you serious? That guy needs firing.

Thad Jarvis 6th January 2010 22:19

Alas given the fairly recent and well publicised attempts by Stelios to meddle in boardroom affairs I wouldn't for a second think Barbara will want to be anywhere near him again. They've already got history anyway.

Buter 7th January 2010 00:38

With no offense intended:

She knew how to keep the troops happy
This seems to be the downfall of every airline.

A common question is 'what was the best airline you worked for?'

'XYXY airline, it was awesome' will be the answer.

'Why did you like it so much?'

'They were great, man. They really looked out for us flight crew. We had great terms and conditions, if we needed days off we just asked for them, plenty of vacation (holiday) time, quick commands, friendly managers...'

'Sounds great; why did you leave?'

'Oh, they went bust.'

I've had this conversation quite a few times over the past decade (nearly).

All the best to those at Easy. I didn't spend a great deal of time there, but when I was there, it was a giggle. I hope ya'll can return it to a fun company.

Cheers

FRying 7th January 2010 07:25

Buter, this is sad. LH is probably the best performing airline in Europe and their pilots have the best T&Cs. Air France-KLM has been performing high as well (and surely will soon) with splendid T&Cs too. The same applies to Southwest.

The idea that the financial health of an airline depends on pilots' T&Cs is poor managerial vision. Forget about it.

Only here do we consider a profitable airline goes with over-loaded pilots on crap pay. Very, very narrow and biased mind.

Doug the Head 7th January 2010 07:48

As FRying also pointed out, the 'connection' you seem to make between good T&C's and going bust is simply nonsense!

Actually, the opposite is also true: lot's of shady airlines with crap T&C's have gone bust. :ugh:

Quality Time 7th January 2010 08:58

Barbara the new 'Andy'........???

Here's part of a post by self appointed spokesman and commentator NSF shortly after 'Andy' appeared through the mist...........

In stark contrast to RW, who seemed to lack any people skills of any kind, AH visitied base after base and could be found anywhere and everywhere at 6.00 in the morning. He was there pressing the flesh, listening to every bleat and whine - he even dressed in easyJet cabin crew uniform around easyLand to show solidarity with the crew. He has largely won the confidence of the pilots and I personally think he has been great news for the company.
Am I a cynic?........................Oh yes!

G-AWZK 7th January 2010 09:05

BC has no desire to be involved in the airline game again, I am told.

Her short time at Veuling seems to have been the last straw. I believe she recently took up a directorship with a company in the US, and cannot see that she and Stellios would be able to sit in the same room for too long. I fear that Barbara is lost to the aviation world for good.

Quality Time 7th January 2010 09:09

I fear that Barbara is lost to the aviation world for good.
What will we do now guys?

:ugh:

Pathetic!

G-AWZK 7th January 2010 09:19

Well, QT, she was one of the more successful airline managers of the last 10-15 years. It is a shame, and maybe an indication of the state of the industry, that she feels that aviation has nothing more to offer.

There will be other senior executives/managers that will take her place and may well be better and more successful, but thanks for your rapier wit and laser like insight.

Quality Time 7th January 2010 09:33

You're more than welcome.:ok:

Doug the Head 7th January 2010 09:34

Well, I'm with Quality Time on this one!

It's absolutely pathetic to see mature, rational people (with presumably a reasonable IQ) crying/hoping/praying for someone to rescue them, whether it was for Andy or now for Barbara.

There is no management (not in aviation, or in any other industry) that will automatically give you respect: you have to earn it!

You want respect? You want a fair treatment? Look in the mirror! There's the answer! :hmm:

p.s. Lufthansa pilots (hint; well paid, well treated, good T&C's, profitable company) are balloting for a strike! (English link here.)

FRying 7th January 2010 10:28

LH pilots are balloting, sure. They're active ? Certainly. Hence their good T&Cs.

These Germans chaps have the balls to act in the middle of a crisis and while their condition is VERY attractive. As opposed to that of pilots at EZ who keep sliding down the slope and accelarating and still down have the guts to take control of their own personal future which they will see miserable.

:ok: LH PILOTS !!! If all pilots on this continent could be of your fabric, we wouldn't be the state we're in !

Forget about Barbara. As previously mentioned, you (we) are our only saviors.

Respect yourselves, be proud of what you are !

Management is sitting on a bomb. They know it but they believe this bomb is deactivated, they're over-confident and they're tickling it. They may well get surprised. After all, who in the world thought USSR would become Russia one day ?
