Blue Wings out of Germany - A320 Operator - Any Details?
Any information on this Airbus operator based out of Düsseldorf? They operate to Russia, Turkey and now the Middle East for the most part. I understand that they just recently had financial problems and restructuring. I have read that they are adding Middle East destinations and more A320s to their fleet. I have heard good and bad about them but I am looking for more information.
So, can anyone provide better details on:
PMs are also welcome. |
•Pay (and how they compare to others like Air Berlin, Condor, etc.) •QOL •Schedule - how often do you fly per week •Night stops or home every night like Easy and Ryan •Pilot domiciles - more than just DUS? Which are senior and which junior? •type requirements for newhires •morale •Is German language proficiency an absolute requirement? 2.crap 3.depends where you are from 7 till 0 4.home->seldom 5.DUS but that doesn´t mean much 6.pay your rating 7.mostly below 0 8.yep |
el caballero rojo,
Thanks for the reply. Sounds terrible. How do they get pilots who are that desparate? Where do they source their pilots - the regionals, flight schools? Sounds like nobody would stay long under those conditions and attrition would be a factor. Why would pilots stay at Blue Wings? Is it just the down economy (little hiring) or are there other factors? |
Sorry, just fell off my chair laughing!!! LOOK, there are no depths, no humiliations, no stupid contracts that pilots will not sign themselves up for!! The day we allowed ourselves to be conned by the airlines for "paying to fly" type employment, instead of the old fair system of bonding, was the day we gave up all hope of a decent lifestyle. There is a neverending stream of wannabes lining up outside my employers head office with open cheque books.
Just goes to show, turkeys DO vote for Christmas!! LOL |
Think twice. I hear that they have not paid their crews since October. Donno if that's true though.:oh:

Iver, please allow me a couple of questions. I have chosen not to PM you as others might also be interested in your reply.
I have noticed that you ask questions about all sorts of operators, big, or small, airlines or G/A, Europe or elsewhere in the world, sort of pretending you would like to work for them. It doesn't make sense to me. One day you want to fly in Asia, then the Middle East, the next in Europe. One day it's a Biz-Jet, the next an Airbus. You say you are in Europe and fly light jets and turboprops. You write like an American and ask questions like a spotter. I don't get it. I ask you this because people come on here, trying to help you with answers, not knowing that they are most likely waisting their time. I don't know what your motivation is, there is nothing wrong with being an enthiusiast with an interest in all things aviation. Or a journo or whatever, but say it like it is. There used two be a guy on here by the name of lavdumper or lavdumperer or both. He sounded a lot like you. Care to comment? |
To be honest, someone who asks about the conditions of Bluewings doesnt know much about the situation of the company or in germany.

733driver,
Yes, I care to comment. Last time I checked this was an information forum where people could ask questions or list their opinions related to airlines worldwide. Am I correct? How do you use this website? I do not know who lavdumper is but if he asked good questions then maybe people on this website got some value out of them. Seriously, why would you waste the time typing your post if you are not interested in the topic? Why? Perhaps you could find a better use for your time like cooking or reading history novels - just a helpful suggestion. If people don't have information/opinions to offer, then they should not waste other peoples' time by replying. Just skip the thread. It's really that simple. Perhaps there are pilots who are interested in Blue Wings who frequent this website - they might benefit from honest assessments. It's called information exchange. Happy holidays! |
Thanks for replying Iver.
However, you haven't really answered my questions, which of yourse you don't have to. But I still get the feeling that you are always the one asking for info, but never the one sharing any (apart from facts that are available to everyone on public websites etc) And again, I get the impression that your questions are so randomly chosen. Why, I don't know. I am all for sharing information. But it goes both ways. And the system should not be abused. That's why I posted on this particular thread, even if it doesn't provide any answers to your original question. Happy holidays to you, too. |
