Hi,

Can somebody tell me what the outcome was of the recent strikes by the Moroccan pilots and RAM management? Was there an agreement that no more foreign First Officers would be hired by Atlas Blue?

Sorry for what happened on your jet2 post that wasn't meant to happen at all!!
Regarding the RAM/Atlas Blue, what I have been told is that the Airline was striking because of Moroccan F'O's where not getting the Command rating which they waited for but instead they hired expact captains to replace them. I know they still go nutts over hiring expact pilots rather than there own but if there is not enough pilots coming out of the schools what can they do right? I hope that has helped you.

the problem is for the captain not the FO's they are short of FO's so if you are rated on the airbus it worth nothing to give a try.

As far as I know their own students (RAM Academy) are far to be ready so they'll need FO's to replace the upgraded FO's as captain in Atlas Blue but more for RAM because the upgraded captains come from RAM but AB too if they keep receiving new airplanes.

It was told to me that they are going to offer TR on the airbus to Morrocan's pilot to replace the foreign captains but for the FO's as mentionned previously it's another story until their own students will be able to fill the gap and we are far from it, they said between 1 and 2 years so maybe more : )))) so maybe a good news for a position as FO.

Last point some eaglejet pilots have been and will be offered a possibility to get a contract with RAM on the NG which is a good news for those who will be choosen.

Sorry to burst bubbles, but Ram have always said they will give jobs to Eaglejet pilots, they rarely do.
There are other airlines down here in Morocco, Air Arabia and Jet4you. Always worth a go.
