757 or 767 Rating is not the same rating anymore !!!

According to an urgent job vacancy, pilots rated on B757/767 are urgently welcome if they got the minimum requirements on B757 and B757 ONLY. You can get as many hours and experience on 767, I am afraid the company would not shortlist your application.

What - a - joke. Who are they to pretend that 767 pilots are too stupid to drive a 757 caravan.(Actually they are the one paying you at the end of the month and taking advantage of that) Sorry but the JAA certifies those two aircrafts in one rating so don't try to be more clever.

Next step will be, "We are looking for B767-300 (but not -200), then 300ER (but not 300) then 300ER with pink toilet and green curtain rated pilots..."

Aviation is ruled by idiots who play with puppets...

He Who Has the Gold, Makes the Rules.

It doesn't mean the 2 a/c are no longer on the same TR.

like the man says, he who pays the piper calls the tune. Employers can ask for anything they want. the world doesn't owe anyone a living.
Anyhow - where is this job advertised?

Sure.... old story so let's ignore it. Life is nice. no comments...

757_Driver 3rd May 2009 16:54

i'm sorry, but i'm not getting why this is even a 'story'. An employer can, and often does, ask for whatever the hell they want. In the current climate there will be loads of applicants for any job, so I would expect any job adverts at the moment to be very very specific.

captjns 3rd May 2009 17:58

Gosh!!!:ooh: next thing you know applicants will start complaining that prospective employers want their prospective employees to where their knickers on the outside to ensure they are clean.

Well I'm finding it the other way with 767 operators not excited if you only have 757 on type. It's not a caravan, it's a tractor ... please! :E

Twin2040 4th May 2009 08:44

I have experience on both. Last time around with little jobs it was the same. Two years ago - no big deal. Stupid yes !

Birdy767 4th May 2009 09:14

:) A tractor to pull a caravan lol . That's why you can't dissociate those two ships :)
