Transavia in Denmark
This weeks Flight International has an ad "crew wanted" for Transavia's new operation starting in Copenhagen.
It then goes on to say they require - Director Flight Ops / Director Continuing Airworthiness / Director operations Control & Ground Services . . . . . . "crew" ? ? well it does say for info on these and "other" vacancies contact us at transavia.com I suppose. Hope this throws up a few vacancies for the ex Sterling guys. :ok: |
I also saw the add in flightglobal for crew, and I am onehopefull unemployed pilot so..Does anyone have any info regarding if transavia is still going to open the cph base ?? and IF what kind of terms will they offer the crew ?? I imagine it would be sort of same as with the french base. Anyone able to give those terms out ?? would be great to get some jobs OPENING instead of closing down as has boon for a long time, so lets cross our fingers :ok:
thankx |
No new cockpitcrew job openings. Aircraft will be flown by Dutch Transavia pilots.
If Transavia ( = Owned by KLM ) will be short of pilots the aircrafts will probably be flown by KLM pilots. ( Pilot overcapacity at KLM ) |
yeah, thats what I was afraid would be the case. sucks..but do you also think there`s a overcapasity of pilots in KLM during the summer program ?? I was hoping GIGA on a job with transavia so...no hope ?? :ugh:

Its hard to say peterpilot07
All we hear is all kinds of rumours. And indeed the planes being flown by KLM pilots is one of em. But there are also a dozen reasons to think off why they wont do that. so like I said they are rumours... So keep the spirit high. |
so I will dutch250, as always., or you wouldnt survieve 15 years in this bizznezz right..but would be fantastic with transavia in cph.
take t easy |
As it looks now Dutch pilots from Transavia will fly the planes also during summer. The shortage that this creates in the AMS base (around 500 pilots on the list) will be filled with KLM-737 pilots . There are as it looks around 130 available with KLM this summer. There is no use in training Danes and have over 100 pilots of KLM sitting without A/C in AMS
|
ok, yeah sounds resonable enough...of course that would be the best to do..well we will see..thankx

Latest news here in the Dutch press is that Transavia and Martinair Holland will be merged. KLM wants to form a "light" version of her own business.
For the moment companies will continue to operate under their respective names and collective labour agreements, but there will be only one management team. Interesting times ahead :hmm: TS 737 |
Transavia pilots will operate the Dennmark based a/c at least until 1st of april. What happens next depends on what Transavia can arrange on short notice.
They want to start a subdivision just like the French division with local crew, both flightdeck and cabin. The AF/KLM group have given permission to do so. However it all depends on getting an AOC and getting the required aircraft. I heard that the ex-Sterling a/c do no meet the Transavia requirements. However with the CEO leaving the company and a MAC/Transavia merger on the horizon I guess nobody knows what's going to happen. But if I were you I would definitely keep an eye on things because Transavia is a very fast moving company. As far as the KLM pilots flying for us in the summer; Since the AMS fleet for next summer is two down from last year and with 16 new guys trained I don't think there will be a shortage in Amsterdam though. |
It would be nice if they would exapnd more abroad so foreign pilots could apply with no knowledge of dutch. You have to speak fluid dutch in order to work for them at the moent and it sucks:ugh:
|
How critical would it be for an applicant to have 737 type and experience to be considered for the Denmark operation? Is it a requirement or a "nice to have" beyond an hours requirement? I presume the ex-Sterling pilots would have a good opportunity for joining with their experience.
Slightly off topic, but is it true that Martinair pilots are placed on one aircraft type and then cannot move from that type (i.e., placed on the 767 and cannot move to MD11 or 747)? |
No, Not true,
Martinair pilots are bonded for three years on type. Then they are able to change type if there are vacant slots on another fleet. Cheers :ok: Doc. |
I also read in flight international saying that you need to speak fluent danish, so how come they will use fluent dutch speakers from mainline KLM. It stinks of protectionism all over again.
To fly the plane you need to speak English full stop to level 4. Who cares if there is no inflight announcements or you need to speak to OPs |
If there are to many pilots within the KLM/AF group due to the crisis.
Ofcourse they will use own pilots to fly the danish operation. I think its logical, and second the union also would not allow the hiring of new people if on the other hand there are to many pilots in the Netherlands. |
TRACK, sounds like you will be the one I will choose to put my money on :ok: so I will keep the hope up for transavia to start up a denmark base, and give me a call..they already have my papers so..I see that they have started on heavy advertizement here in Denmark, finally...could be really good for them..

I also read in flight international saying that you need to speak fluent danish, so how come they will use fluent dutch speakers from mainline KLM. It stinks of protectionism all over again. Since KLM pilots are much more limited by their Labor Agreement I don't see them operating from Denmark. Tell a KLM mainline 737 crew to fly a CPH-LPA-CPH on the same day and they will probably faint at the spot. We do 3 days in a row Denmark-Canaries and back, they cannot and will not. Until Transavia Denmark is working under it's own AOC with Danish registered a/c the crew will be Transavia crew based in Holland. |
hah, yeah I have heard that some pilots do complain a bit if their scheduel would look like that...and we even did OSL-lpa-OSL...now THAT was pushing it mate  lets hope that transavia will get the danish AOC soon then..so we can get that operation going :ok:
|
Yeah! Pushing the FTL limits is cool!:ugh:
