Hi all,

Does anyone know if Europe Airpost are recruiting, if so what process do they use, ie contact details etc. Really interested in this type of work.

French speaking pilots only I'm afraid ...
Fcom in French, ATC in French and so on ....

ATC, checklists and briefings may be done in english, however you must be fluent in french to join the team.
F/Os without B737 type rating are now promoted internally from Air Contractors (ATR pilots).

Given that Air Contractors are Irish/UK based HOW fluent is fluent ? If the rosbif ATR F/O's do a Berlitz course and achieve a reasonable level of conversational French is that enough ( given that briefings, checklists and ATC are allowed in English that only leaves chit chat in French anyway ;) )
Do they accept DEC Boeing rated Capt's or all commands from internal promotion ?

I knew we should never have cooperated in the building of that bloody tunnel . . . . ;):D and the fluency level ? et le CDB DEC ? s'il vous plait ?

According to ppjn, whenever there are DEC positions at EAP, they are for short-term contracts: Pilot Jobs Network - for students of pilot schools and experienced airline pilots

By the way, the application form (download from the EAP website) is... in French! Guess what, in France they speak French - how shocking! :rolleyes:

Hello,

I'll start the ground course as a CPT with EAP on the 16th of February 2009. Indeed you need to be fluent in French to join the company (interview, courses, manuals,... are in French) but also to get a french equivalence of your license from the French CAA. The FCAA will ask you to sign a paper certifying that French is your native language. If not, you have almost no chance to get the French license and without that paper you are not allowed to fly on a "F" registered aircraft.

So much for the JAR licence in the French eyes then. :ugh:

Nothing has changed in reality since 1996 when I couldn't walk across the apron in CDG with my French co-pilot if my OO reg Boeing went twang and climb into the F reg one next door.
Both were operated by the same company, but one was on the F AOC that they held & the other on the Belg version.
Somewhat ridiculous, but hey, how come I am not surprised.
At least we don't reciprocate the courtesy, and Frogs and other species, are welcomed happily in Ryanair & Easy Jet, assuming they speak (well more or less) the language of aviation. ;)

French pilots hate the French CAA (DGAC) just as much as foreigners dealing with them do. They also make everything complicated and slow for us.
Don t mix French pilots working abroad with state employees that work like we are in the 1950s.

Also, unless they've changed the rules, but I don't think so, when you hold a french licence you must do your medical checks in a french center, approuved by the DGAC, otherwise the licence is not valid :E

Why don't you p1ss off back to the French Forum & speak French then little cloud ? what, nothing much happening in French aviation except AF ? yep, a lot of your countrymen have reason to be thankful for the existence of the "crappy" (as you insist ) loco's Ryanair & Easy Jet and their slightly less partisan ( racist even ? ) hiring policies. :hmm:

The French are not all that good at speaking other languages mostly because French schools don t emphasise on that which is stupid. So I can understand (sadly) why a French airline wouldn t employ someone that doesn t speak French (Also not such a good idea for communication with cabin crew/PAX/Operations...). On the other hand their are LOTS of belgiums (as half of them are native french speakers) working in French airlines (1/3 of the pilots at Airpost are belgium!! and a LOT of my belgium collegues got hired by Air France). Their are lots of other nationalities, you just have to speak French, so it s not protectionism or racism it s just a language problem. Just ignore Nuage Blanc he is a troll and they are everywhere around the globe. I personally studied in the UK to get a proper command of English. With the efforts that it implied I am glad that my employer (Non French) was not narrow minded enough not to hire me because I am not from his country...
