Strange logic in name of this Forum of Terms and Endearment?

For yonks I have wondered why this Forum is called Terms and Endearment? Maybe "Terms" means terms of service? But "endearment"? My dictionary gives endearment as "something that endears...a word or words of affection."

I am stuffed if I can see why the various subjects posted in this particular forum have anything to do with a warm and fuzzy love-in - as in "endearment?":hmm:

I always thought it was a pun of the film . . . .

Precisley, I always thought is was a play with words (Terms OF Endearment); i.e. the mods have a sense of humour !

YMMV.

How do you pun a film???? A Pun is a form of usage of words. A film is not a word...What??

Er, maybe you meant "a pun on the name of the film". Or maybe you meant a pun of the phrase "the film"? But Terms and/of Endearment is nowhere near a pun of that. Oh dear, now I'm confused too.

What has a film to do with it anyway??

It's blindingly obvious it's a (barely humourous) play on words as Canada Goose said; well, what else could it be?

Doh!
