TCCA to JAA

Wondering if anyone has heard about the EASA, and TCCA creating a more streamlined system to converting license between the two agencies. I've heard a bit of this from various people one of whom is in the TCCA. However, I also heard that this was put on hold or still requires further discussion. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Does anyone know when this would be a reality?

a little while ago I spoke with someone from EASA. They mentioned that they were having discussions with Transport Canada regarding license conversion - basically making the transition easier, quicker and much chaeper. However, at the time the plans had stalled. Has anyone else heard anything new? Or can elaborate on what i have heard?

Don't know about Canada to JAA, but am doing FAA to JAA (in Germany) right now.
From what the LBA have told me, or advised me, is to make sure to have the conversion finished before EASA takes over it all, which is supposed to occur in 2012.
The vibes they are getting are that things will become more ridiculous than they already are, rather than "streamlined".
But maybe that's just FAA discrimination.

If you ask me, I think the Euros (JAA) have a rather large bug stuck up their a$$es, which is still alive and kicking, thus making sitting in their offices very uncomfortable!

....and I'm a Euro.....:ugh:
