Subpart Q

Sorry if this is not in the right section!

Are check-in and check-out times meant to be added to your FDP (Flight Duty Period)?

mona lot 18th November 2008 21:44

FDP starts when you check in and finishes when you check out.

Great, thank you!

It says you can work 60 hours in seven rolling days. Do you need to have rest period between day seven and eight (if you work all those 60 hours in seven days)?

Read it

Each country can have their own additions and interpretations as long as an equeal level of safety is ensured (or something to that effect...)... Subpart Q starts on page 191 of the PDF document.

As i understand it FDP starts, as stated correctly above, when you check in for a flight. It stops, however, when on-blocks for the last leg and not when you check out. Flight duty period is not the same as duty period in subpart Q.

My 2 cents...

From the link provided under definitions, 1.1095, page 192:

Flight Duty Period:

A Flight Duty Period (FDP) is any time during which a person operates in an aircraft as a member of its crew. The
FDP starts when the crew member is required by an operator to report for a flight or a series of flights; it finishes at
the end of the last flight on which he/she is an operating crew member.

So from check-in to last on-block is correct.

"FDP starts when you check in and finishes when you check out."

sorry that should say;

FDP starts when you check in and finishes when you arrive on chocks/ATA

Duty starts when you check in and finishes when you check out.
