Air Berlin and the Dash-8-Q400s

I recently saw a couple in DUS, and I wondered if newhires were hired onto them, or were the FOs transfers from other Air Berlin fleets? Any stories on where the Dash Captains came from, previous fleets? Cheers.

A few senior FOs have been upgeaded on the Dash, FOs are mostly coming from AB flight school. As far as I know no new hires for the Dash, as AB is overcrewed at the moment. The company is leasing out crews to Condor, CLH and a few others.

Does the Q400 pay the same as the 737 and Airbus for newhire FOs? I read AB will add 10 Q400s with 10 on option.

D.D. - 10 firm and 10 options are correct. The aircraft are actually operated by LGW. Some of the crew are coming from LGW as well as from Air Berlin proper
