hello everybody,

A new start-up company is in due on October, in Portugal, to based in Madeira Island.

FLYMI as agreed with Boeing to receive 2 brand new B737-700. Operations are expected to start-up earlier on October.

On the local newspapers, this company is planing to start with a wet-leasing aircraft until they have their own fleet. Expected salaries for comanders are higher than €5000.

Life in Madeira is nice, most of the year good weather. But the airport is a cat(C)-special training is required. It has a delicated weather conditions.

Would they take type rated DEC, 10000 hrs plus TT, JAR licence, non-EU citizen?

I believe that with your experience that you can have good chances.

In Portugal there were some previous experiences, with some australian guys, ex-Ansett that worked for AirLuxor, also Algerians ex-Kallifa Airways and Canadians ex-Canada 3000 (non Jar-fcl) that may be the best people to give you detailed informations about temporary licence in Portugal.
