Contract Flying--Avionco

Im a crj700 captain. Im thinking of taking a leave of absence to fly for Avionco in India. Avionco is a Calgary based contracter who works with Bombardier. They have contracts all over. I would like to here from anyone who has anymore info on them. Thanks!!

Stay away. You will find many posts on here and the other forums warning against Avionco. They will jerk you around for months, then not pay.

Stay very far away from that company!!!!!
Never pay on time!
When you need something from them, they don't respond and when they respond they are very unfriendly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worked for them for about 7 months and I and my collegues had always problems with them!!!!!!!

The Dodd's are criminals. AVOID AVIONCO

Their business strategy is predicated upon a steady stream of pilots. They burn you for money and replace you with a new pilot......one with visions of grandeur ...then he gets burned....

Do you get it.

They have dead bodies everywhere.:{

So if you don't recommend them, is there another crew leasing company that anyone could recommend.

Another vote for ACASS. Avionico does not pay, period, so do not go out with them unless they pay for your time period IN ADVANCE before you leave home, all your per diems and return airline ticket.

As mentioned above, the contract market is very good now and do not go out for less than $10k a month. My copilot is now making $12k a month and thats more than I am getting, but he worked a better deal than I did. I am learning, slowly it seems! :)

Well, at least you are ahead of me Chandlers Dad. LOL :}

ACASS bennies

ok..

Is that gross pay? who pays the taxes? is it true you can negotiate that too or not? what are some contractor expenses-- besides training? I hear the average contract is good for 6-8 wks... if after that period is up, can you negotiate for a higher rate, or do you have to wait for a year to lapse?

Anyone here doing an India contract? Curious as to the type of flights, how are your flight plans handled, Universal?? Does the company give you an expense card?? Schedule while you're on contract? Thanks a many...

J.

No contract agency pays taxes, its on your own. Very few companies give you a card to use for expenses. Everything is on your credit card. ACASS will pay for hotels in some cases but not all.

You can sometimes make deals with ACASS but only if you are really needed or they are in a bind. Normally they are pretty set in their fees.

Just answered your PM, pls check your inbox.

Avionco Is Dishonest To The Core

These people suck in every way possible. Stay away from them. They pay late, if not at all and will tell you anything that you want to hear.... Beware.
