EZY Shift System
 
Can anyone let me know what EZY's shift system is.

Normally 5 lates followed by 4 off, then 5 earlies followed by 3 off.

You also get 2 or 3 'Reserve' months per year, which is essentially random rostering.

I've just come off my reserve month in January and got every weekend off and a week's allocated leave. . . .

Ryanair is not a permanant 5/4 they can be used into day 6 numerous times during the year making it 6/3. I am sure any Ryanair guys will give us the details.

For the record Easyjet cannot roster you into day 6 but if there are delays on the last day and you go past midnight you can do this 3 times in the year before you are owed a day off. This is not very common.

I now know all my days off until Mar 09 (with exception of the random blocks). How many companies allow you to plan over a year in advance? Easyjet rostering is not without its faults but 5354 is the best pattern I have had.

Sounds good to me, try 6/2/5/3 and always in hotels with 11 hour duty times, 3 hours between flights, eg out of OTP then to IST.

Remember that in ezy its NOT 5453 for the entire year. We also have 2.4 (?) months of random rostering, or "reserve period" as Orange world likes to call it. I tell you, there is NOTHING "reserve" about these months.....expect 80+ hrs on random rostering, only guarantee, minimum that is, is 7 (or is it 8? too tired to think clear) days off... I know some bases are a bit better then this but dont hold your breath. Heard a rumour that the roster system has been "twigged" lately to increase hrs/pilot ratio... Did they not learn their mistakes two summers ago??!?!:ugh: Anybody in the know?

Funny that one.... i had my reserve month in the autumn and flew a total of 15 hrs, and the rest home on the couch with my girlfriend, flying in and out :E
And the last 2 month i have been rostered approx 50 hrs/month and the new february roster looks the same, so can't really back up on the fact that we all gets "abused". Ok, we work hard in the summertime but who doesn't?? - and my total last year was still just above 750 hrs :zzz:

Hmm. Never had more then 3-4 standbys and always 75-80 hrs or more...

Two days flying in my reserve.... rest is standby. 60hrs a month for last two years - full time.

Perhaps Captainprop has upset crewing/rostering at some stage? :confused:

2 stby's in my last reserve period. One was changed to a work day in advance and I was called on the other one. :ouch:

No wonder the transfer list for STN is long! :}

Word on the street is that our new head of rostering is very keen on getting rid of the fixed pattern.....but I suppose we'll be keeping our powder dry this time too..

How can you fly only 50-60 hrs a month in a low cost airline ? Even BA pilots need to fly at least 70 hrs to be productive enough. :confused:
Are you sure that this system can last for long ?
If you have any explanation about that, I would be very curious to know it ! :suspect:

with the fixed pattern / random roster for a few months how many days off including leave do you EZY drivers get in a leave year.

Am a bit too lazy to add it all up this time in the evening, but roughly we have about 12 days off pr month in a pattern where the month hits 2 periods of 3 days off, one of 4 days off and then half an off periode into the next roster.
On top is the 28 days allocated leave pr year, but that can give ok if you put it right. 5 days off gives 12 in effect as you will have 4+3 days on each side.

Not so bad compared to many other places ;)

PS. Powder reserves is being dried and stocked :E

we get 20 days annual leave a year - but a quick search on the easy web will show you that!!!!!

Dont compare our rosters and leave to Ryanair's - we dont give away ANY of our leave to achieve 5354!

we book a block of 5 days and get 3 before and 4 after

so 5 days leave = 12 days off!

Gentlemen we get 25 days of leave a year!!! (includes 5 GDOs, pay agreement 06).

One block of 5 leave days will have the wrap around days either side giving 12days off in a block as mentioned above. However, if you take leave in a random period you will lose some of the wrap around days... don't ask me how many because I don't take leave in the random block.

Always get....? You are still fairly new right?!

Anyway Airbrake is right 25 should be the real figure but to add to the confusion as an example I have had 25, 30 and now again 25 ?
About the flying hours I did 21 hrs in December when having my reserve, rostered to do 90 in January and 80 in February.
