Air Southwest salaries
While we're on the subject - and you will obviously know if you're just starting with them - could you be kind enough to divulge the starting salary with this wonderful airline?
Not a sarcastic 'dig' - I know the salary would be frowned upon by those who would like to fly for so called 'bigger and better' airlines, but I've always been a fan of this airline in it's many different guises and they look like they're a really nice outfit to work for... |
Can anybody confirm a 4 year, £20K bond? A gross estimation of a type rating for the Dash 8 comes in at about £14K so just curious how this figure is reached?
Location and flying sounds good. I heard £18K is the start salary, but what is the real term monthly take home with per diem and daily allowances? Surely it has to be on par with Flybe at least? (abt £1700 / mth after tax) |
money money money
Type rating is bonded 4 yrs for 20k, nothing is paid for the first year so if you decide to leave after one yr, 20k please! Not an issue if your in no rush to leave. As far as I can see the allowance is only a fiver a day. As for salary ppjn is a few years behind, start is on 19 for first 6 months and then 22. Not a massive amount of money but everything is relative I guess and plymouth is quite cheap to live in. From my limited exposure they are a great bunch of guys super super friendly.

18k is about £1200 ish a month take home depending on pension etc maybe more with your flight pay
|
Let's be clear about this £5....
It is NOT FLIGHT PAY it is instead of giving you crew food, it is a food allowance. Try getting a well balanced nutritional meal for that... Plymouth is not cheap to live, unless you choose to live in some really Shi**y areas They only see you staying for two years, so you give them LOTS of money when you leave. I think this is the most expensive Bond I have ever heard of... Crap T&Cs but lovely people involved in the Flying. SH should sell it to someone who cares about the Airline Dreamer |
Time to command - with your experience, the complete lack of expansion in ASW and Sutton Harbours unwillingness to spend money on the airline id say you're looking at about
errrrr Donkeys years!! Its a fantastic airline purely because of the people who work there and nothing else! An accurate picture would be - Crap pay Crap planes carrying many ADDs Limited route structure Unrealistic bond - How they expect you to be greatful for a job when you're bonded so much is beyond me Super stingey holding company who would rather buy a doctors surgery instead of an another aircraft. They also are sitting back and watching FlyBe take over St Mawgan <- BAD move IMHO Long 6 and 7 sector days with the odd exception in the winter That said, you will learn a massive amount from the people you fly with and im certain you'll love it (for the first year:p) Welcome aboard and see you on the BRS a/c change!:E |
