BUS319,
If you're interested you probably have to be fast I've heard from the management it's only 10 crews that are needed for Indigo. Somehow I doubt that the T&C will be better than those in EZY.

jeremydewever :=,
Do the math pls.
IF you get into EZY you will join with less than 200 hours. You can maximum fly 900 hrs per year and you need minimum 3000 easyJet factored hours before you can apply for command. From you apply for command to the day where you get your "4 stripes" takes nearly another year. So in reality it will take you MINIMUM 4 years and that's if you're good.
Then another downfall in the industry could be waiting around the corner in the near future, you never know- and you could be looking at maybe 8 or 10 years before a command, if you get to keep your job !

Yeah, I'd take it as well for a shorter period, say 1-2 months... but not the whole 6.
And Kraut, it is not really as bad as you see it. I guess most of the gals and guys interested will first check conditions and then finally make a funded decision. I would expect the T&Cs to be the same as actual base + expenses + eventual foreign allowance.

A few years ago, flying for another company I was given the opportunity to go flying for Bangladesh and I spent a very rewarding and warm winter month. Did a lot to enhance my view of the World, I ate very good food, drank fine beer and met fantastic people.

jeremydewever, your attitude reminds me of that of this French Oiseau Blanc of some sort that was haunting the forum a while ago... PPRUne stands for Professional Pilots

Is it true that D.O. (ex easyjet) is now management with Indigo?

dragon501 22nd July 2007 04:23

Jeremy, stick to playing computer games instead of opening your mouth. Probably better for your career...

Wizofoz 22nd July 2007 18:06

Jeremydewer,
J
ust let me say I agree with others here, you're attitude stinks!!

I've heard the same thing Luke. Would be interested in having this confirmed. Might put a few people off the idea shall we say. :hmm:

autobrake3 24th July 2007 20:34

Most definitely true and a very strange link up considering the circumstances of his departure. Still when money is involved.......

sabenaboy 25th July 2007 08:10

Jeremydewever,

You don't need to be ambitious to be an airline captain. You DO need some maturity, wisdom, experience, intelligence, humility and good leadership capabilities amongst other characteristics.

If I look at your blog ( first hit when I googled for "jeremy dewever" ) and your remarks in this forum, I doubt very much that you're the kind of guy that I would like to see as a captain.

What intelligence is concerned: how intelligent can you be if you use your real name to make stupid remarks like the ones you made? I'm sure someone at EZY will remember your name if you ever get to the point where you can apply to them!

I apologise for this off-topic reply.

Regards,
Sabenaboy

Fly Indigo

OK so heres the low down on Indigo. I am part of it. D.O. is very much there and has already started showing a lot of colours. Could anyone here update on his previous "QUALIFICATIONS" since he seems to be a person who remains in news like Warwick Brady who came to Air Deccan and brought it to almost shut down. The news is that, Air deccan was left with just three days of operating expenses before Viyay Mallya of Kingfisher bailed them out and the first action was to ask Warwick to quit gracefully, which, he did not deserve. Please update on D.O. too...
Indigo is low cost airline which is vehemently trying not to recruit indian pilots. Infact, nearly 50% cockpit crew is expat. I have nothing against expats who are campaigners of free market. How about opening EU/UK/North America markets for "deserving" expat pilots too? Let there be openeness in YOUR country too rather than expecting it only from India. There are enough and more qualified pilots here who have been on 320 for years now.
You will not have a stable roster here. Infact, you will get your flight a day prior or even the same day. There are a lot of layovers, which, in expat context is good for people who are staying without families - you get to see more places here. anyway you are all on a paid holiday here. so enjoy!!!
The payments and other HR issues are very well looked after. Though same cannot be said about operations and training, specially after arrival of D.O., devide and rule policy has started there.
All the best. if you have any specific queries, post them here for answers.:ok:

:=Dear Jeremy Whatever-
Sure hope I don't get to fly with you at Orange. You sound insufferably above yourself!

electricdeathjet 26th July 2007 16:26

Interesting thread, I dont know how this got to be a discussion about destroying someones career before the poor chap has even got off the ground... give him a break! He was obviously wrongly informed.

Back to the topic..... I hear that orange crews might be going out as soon as mid August, does anyone have a clue about what packages they might on? Do they get easyjet+indigo pay? Hotels by the sea? Personal transport? ...........

easy-Go Indi-Jet Not sure what sounds better?

The Flying Cokeman 26th July 2007 19:41

electricdeathjet,

From what I've heard you will only be paid by Indigo while on contract but you get to keep the EZY senority when you get back spring 2008. Don't know about the T&C's which haven't seen the light yet.
Only 10 crews are needed so it's not a lot. Hope that helps?

CamelhAir 26th July 2007 19:53

I propose Jeremy Dewever for this years "stupidest post of the year award."
Not only has diplayed monstrous ignorance of how career progression in aviation, he has done so while revealing his own identity. He then returned to the fray to spout even more BS. How much of a hole can one dig....
At first I thought, this as to be a made up name, but then, as revealed by Sabenaboy, we discover, no, it's for real. Check out his blog, he really does exist. The mind truly boggles.
Let us only hope that he is not representative of the standard of pilots entering the industry.

dartagnan 26th July 2007 20:35

any email address for sending CV to Indigo?

electricdeathjet 26th July 2007 21:05

From what I've heard in galley FM, is that ej will be wet leasing their a/c during the winter period to better utilize the fleet in that period.

gareth08 26th July 2007 21:55

Lots of CTC guys coming into Easy are working hard to keep the pretty good rep that CTC has here.

Please don't ruin it all by opening your mouth Jeremy - cheers :ouch:

PPRuNe Towers 26th July 2007 22:15

Jeremy Dewever

Jeremy is no longer with us as he is not Jeremy.
Ok, It's impossible to tell who is who on a public forum.

Anyway this guy start his blog with the title:
"HIGHWAY TO THE SKY, follow here the stages leading me straight to a cockpit" and puts a picture of his pilotshirt and stripes on his blog (He already has a PPL :} )

No further comment.
