1st Jet Job terms & conditions

Just been offered a B737 FO job after many many years on the self improver route (around 1500 MCC turboprop, 4000+ TT and 2700P1 all the CAA ticks in boxes), 37 years young with family.

Contract is for dual basing with TR cost of £15000 deductable from salary over 3 years.

Pay during training equiv to £25kpa
Then £32kpa
Then £37kpa after 500 hrs on type.

If you deduct the £5k pa for TR thats (assuming worst case):

yr 1: £25253 gross
yr 2: £32000 gross
yr 3: £32000 gross

Accom only during training, 24 days leave +8 BHols, 3% con pension after 6 mths. PAYE flight pay of around £2/hr

How does that compare with likes of other B737 operators? Good/poor deal?

Similar outfit but not quite.

Also been offered a Turbo prop captaincy with current outfit and a fast track Turbo prop with another company both with normal 2 to 3 yr bond (not TRSS).

Decisions decisions! Actually very nice to have some options at last!

Sounds like a certain Scottish airline. Trying that dual basing lark... Hmm, that'll be interesting if their FOI hears about it.

Basically it's not a good deal at all, the money simply isn't enough in year 1 or in year 2 either. I don't know many who pay less than that on a 73.

It is a jet job however and it may be a good step, but get everything signed in blood with this lot. It isn't the happiest ship in the world, but it may get better. Most were pretty happy there a year ago.
