Flybe Paypoints - Rises in salary

If anyone can help me understanding the Flybe salary structure it would be greatly appreciated. Below are the salary tables covering Q400 F/O's.

So from these tables, if I entered at the bottom (paypoint 0) as an F/O on 07/08 I would start on £23,920. I was wondering how often do you move up a paypoint? I was under the impression that it was once every year of service, so after a year of service I would be on paypoint 1 in 08/09 and would then earn £27,737. Is this correct? any clarity on the issue would greatly be appreciated.

Totally Correct

The reason the 3 tables are shown is because there was a 3 year pay deal negotiated. Therefore, as time passes over the 1st of April one would expect the annual payrise to kick in and as one passes an anniversary of substantive rank one would expect an annual incremental increase.

Why does Paypoint 1 go down next year?

Modderator 19th April 2007 08:25

Don't forget these are increments in Rank. ie. when you change seats you go down to the bottom again. C---p deal.

Well I thought it would only seem logical that once you are promotedto captain you start on the bottom of the captain payscale. Isnt it the same at most other airlines?

Can't speak for most airlines but at ei if you leave the f/o's pay scale at year 10 you enter the capt's pay scale at year ten. We use to even gain a year upon transition but we lost that in the great strive to become competitive with other companies.

Q

Your interpretation of the payscales is correct.
New joining FOs start at £23920, rising to £27737 after a year (ie you work diagonally through the table).
Doors, in answer to your question why payscales appear to fall for year two, it is because FOs originally started on c£26000, however last year this starting salary was cut to £23000, rising to £26670 in year 2.

All the best,
