No direct entry captains, only promoted inside.

Well they're hiring D.E. Captains for a Dublin base for 'Futura Gael' :E

Well, I can't agree with all info written by "bluefalcon" :
Good airline, serious and with good future prospects, mostly charter, and wet leasing to other carriers, (lots of nights away from base),737 fleet ( in expansion),also strong pilot union, therefore almost imposible for non-spanish speaking to find their way in, just hired 30 new f.oīs (spanish) by the way. No direct entry captains, only promoted inside.

The first part is correct about the good future prospects, charter operation, wet lease and B737 fleet. What is not entirely correct is the second part. Unions are strong but foreigners may enter easily. As long as the have the right qualifications.

They are expanding rapidly and that's why are looking for B737 pilots with papers for these planes or for other types of planes (in that case they need to have a long record of hours of flights, at least 8000). If a pilot don't qualify, he may receive a training from the company and pay it off with his future salary.

Regarding the promoted captains, there are very few of them. About 1 a year. The rest of the recruitments and promotions come from the outside.

hours

8000 hours is an exageration. I'm sure that less is enough as long as you're the right candidate.

By the way, the Futura group is growing fast, this year they had already more than 70 selections of new staff this year, among them 5 for pilots, 7 for cabin crew, 2 for engineers, 5 for mechanical technicians, etc.

Flyant? Do people actually get paid to come up with names like this?

aeromaniac1 9th November 2007 12:00

Flyant

well, yes, they do. Have you seen their web? There is the whole story behind it.

Why Ant?
Because this is the only animal able to carry weight 10 times heavier than its own body
Because it reflects working in a team, constancy and seriousness
And because it goes forward confidently without being daunted by any problems

Personally, I like this name a great deal, people that I know too, and I think that you are the first person that criticize it
