BMI Airbus Pilots

I was hoping to move to BMI on the 320/330, can anyone tell me what the company is like, the roster, benefits, salary, routes, time to command etc. Is it a nice company?
Thanks

It sux!!!
flight deck/CC are mostly great, besides a couple of stray wankers that managed to get in.
Management are a joke!!!
Pay..average
route....look up their website.
Time to command...........another joke. Not a chance in hell!!!
Roster.........thats another joke. 10 weeks lead to request day off
Pension........again, a joke.
constant stream of F/O's leaving, and now even Cpts are signing off.
taking Oxford cadets with min hrs to replace vacant seats.
One more joke for you......MONKEY MIDLAND!!!
.....look elsewhere

Hours etc

Hi there
How many hours are you flying per year?
How many days are you at work on average per month?
How stable is the roster?
How long before you move from 320 to 330?
Many stopovers, for how long?

What is the average time to command....does everyone start at the back of the Q?
Thanks, I hope it gets better for you soon.

In answer to your questions

1. The current agreed limit is 740. Work above that is voluntary but it is effectively for half pay. Bear in mind that you will spend an awful amount of time hanging around not flying.

2. Roster periods are 28 days. 10 of these will be days off.

3. Not very.

4. Pass although an answer of quite some time is probably more appropriate.

5. Very few. They can be bid for but most of them are in the UK. This may change as BMED is integrated.

6. The airline has been contracting for many years and bmi Mainline have not promoted a Capt for nearly 6 years. There is talk of some commands this year but this is mainly to accommodate some Capt’s going part time. Again the BMED integration may have an affect. You will join the back of the queue with a long line ahead of you.

The company philosophy is save money at all costs. This is reflected in the morale of the staff, the majority of who are good people but sadly no longer really care about the company.
