Brookfield-Ryanair rates of pay
 
Hi

I was wondering if someone could tell me what the actual rate of pay with Brookfield or Ryanair themselves is?

I have heard it is an hourly rate only. Not including turn arounds or report time... baisically you are paid from off blocks to on blocks?

Is this correct, and what is the rate of pay, year 1 and year 2 on.. for new FO's straight out of Line Training.

Brookfield you are paid per SCHEDULED block hour. The rates are based on your JAR25 time and are:

<500 - 55e
>500<1500 - 75e
>1500 - 80e

Flying can vary from base to base, expect around 800 or so a year.

Before JAR25 500hrs I make that an annual salary of around £37,000, then rising to about £50,500 after 500hrs, then £53,800 after 1500hrs, based on doing roughly 840hrs per year and using the current exchange rate.

If you are Brookfield and he grounds airplanes in your base you may be paid nothing.

With Brookfield off course you also have to nominate 1 month a year where you don't work at all (outside of the annual leave you can request) This off course also means that for that month you don't get pay at all since it is all based on the block hours you fly. (So don't go spending it all... :))
Rarely (from what I've heard) you'll actually get the month you asked for.:{

Now making a quick sidestep here. I'm just on the verge of getting my line check so I'm expecting to get on the Brookfield contract (as 95% of cadets get it) Can anyone tell me how they sort out their taxes? I'm an absolute nobody when it comes to those matters...:}

Go speak to an accountant, preferably one who has knowledge of the environment in which we work. I believe Brookfield can recommend a firm either the S.E. or Ireland (however like all things FR related, they probably have a cut or finders fee attached to this :p ) Balpa also produce a tax document for airline pilots, so it may be worth seeing if you can get hold of this?? Also setting yourself up as either a sole trader or PLC will enable you to claim back tax on nesscessaries that are required to do your job. Again, to be certain of these, speak to an accountant. Investing a little in this now may save you a lot in the future.

JAR25 means JAR25...it's not type specific. So your other hours will count.

How should this work, pay rate above 1500 hrs? You are allowed 900 max/year. Maybe I don't get something... :confused:

1500 hours jar 25 TOTAL time. Pretty simple really. And as far as I know yes previous JAR 25 time does count towards the pay rate.

aha! 1500 hrs means 1500 total hour experience. :\

I didn't assume that you can have so few hours for a contract. Sorry.

Edit: So this is a FO contract? How about CMD?

Captains on the Brookfield contract get 138.50 euros per scheduled block hour, however most captains at ryanair are directly employed by ryanair.

check CAA website, JAR 25 is transport jet aircraft therefore 0>9999999999999999hrs SEP, MEP, even turbo prop will not count to the 500hrs required to jump to the next pay bracket.

I completely agree.

I will start posting on here what really happens when working for Brookfield....oh hang on, that’s right, you don’t work for Brookfield. You work for YOUR company, (either self employed, or Ltd Company), and in turn contracted to supply Brookfield with a service, which in turn is contracted out. This means, a whole different thing.

I will try and start a threat shortly regarding issues, problems, complaints and practices being used by Brookfield and what your rights actually are.

(Beware-You may be within your rights to say and do something, but 99% of the time, 'THE' Brookfield Rep will just tell you to stop complaining, do as your told, you have no rights).

My opinion, if you are unhappy, do something about it. In the majority of cases, what they are doing is actually sailing very close to the line of legality, and almost certainly breaches the contract you are so aggressively told you to read.

waiting for pay from brookfield is a nightmare

Ryanair pay Brookfield
Brookfield pay your limited company
your limited company pay you

passes through 3 accounts before YOU get paid

supposed to be paid 12th every month usually ends up being the 17th or so and when you call they have no interest in discussing it all in all i find it a complete disaster!!

My pay normally goes in by lunchtime on the 12th or the 13 at latest!

but if it always was late by say the 17th, then surly you just work on 17th as your pay day and if it comes early hey ho?

after all surly pilots are cleaver people and have a little cash reserve and dont run out the day before pay day!!! thats a pretty weak problem in the scheme of things.
