thank you, but you don't need to remind me that either last year or in previous years there has been disruption at Flybe. You must however understand that whilst the company has had disruption in the past (perhaps whilst you were here too) the company has changed a dramatically over the past 18 months.

There are several Flybe pilots on the thread stating that they like the company. CURRENT PILOTS, with CURRENT VIEWS. You regurgitate dated opinions.

Well if I regurgitate anything, it is the views of the fifteen or so current flybe employees who I still keep in contact with. None of them seem to agree with you - at least not what you are saying this week. If anything, some of them have found the disruption the worst in years. Well, maybe they are lying, who knows.

I am as anonymous as you are, so what's your point there?

Glad you are happy at flybe. I was too, and I would recommend them as an employer (overall that is - current stunts notwithstanding). The big picture is encouraging, and JF is a smart guy. Not sure about some of the imports though.

Despite my 'handle' I am not a flybe pilot (yet) but am really looking forward to the deal being signed and transferring across to work with you guys.

There is always disruption in times of change, but will resolve itself as consolidation sets in.

In the meantime - lets get on with it

I take your point, it was a reference to previous employees who got their first chance. To someone with thousands of hours it may seem like a step backward but if it's any consolation the Dash -400 is streets ahead of other turboprops, it's in a different league. You'll get varied routes, Chambery, Guernsey, Basle etc etc. Airfields where you'll enjoy it's performance.


Remoak... I don't need to wind my neck in. I'm just defending my company from unfair criticism that, as many others have posted here, '.. is what you'll find anywhere else.' Your 15 current employees that you know may well include me, like I said I take the rough with the smoothe, you may have spoken to me on a bad day!!!


To Moderator who posted yesterday that Jim's position may be in doubt with the Walker family.... Do you really think they are unhappy with the guy that has turned their Jack's business into Europe's largest independent airline, has set it up for future growth with new aircraft, new routes and is in a position to 'acquire' one of it's very own competitors ,is doing a bad job???!!! (Oh yes, and has paid back their loans post 9/11) What has a guy got to do to be doing a good job these days.... :D :D :D

thats absolutely brilliant!!...............

Two simple questions :

1. Why does this deal keep getting delayed by issues we knew would be issues in December yet at the eleventh hour on numerous occassions they raise their ugly heads again ?

2. Would it really cost Fly Be more to now walk away, calling BA's bluff, than it would to sort out the coming debacle if the deal does go through ?

And a quick comment :

Although I am one of the many on the way out there are some good folk in both BACON and Fly Be who will benefit from the deal getting done and being able to get on with their jobs and their lives. If the deal had gone through last month it may still have been a good one, however, I am starting to have my doubts about how viable the bits of BACON Fly Be actually want still are. BA seem to have lured Fly Be into a trap Easy, Ryanair, Baby, et al couldn't have set better themselves.

It must be a dream come true for the management team at waterside. Don't just screw up your own company but screw someone elses up as well ! DE used to love hiding behind the fact that there were other companies as unsuccessful as his. In my experience none of us at the coal face (be that FD, CC, Engs, Ground staff) are real people to these morons, hence the term "HUMAN RESOURCES".

I just hope Fly Be survives it's brush with the virus that is BA management. Good luck to all.

Flybe have just announced that due to legal complications the deal with BA connect is not going ahead as planned.

Frantic talks taking place but this deal looks dead and buried.

Flybe has just issued a statement. "Legal complications" I know that a video conference is taking place as we speak but my gut feeling is that the complications are too great. The company are not stating what complications but from what I hear the problem is the pension.

Completion of UK regional carrier BA Connect’s sale to Flybe has been delayed as they work on finalising legal processes and will not be officially announced tomorrow morning as expected.
Oneworld carrier British Airways revealed its plans to sell regional arm BA Connect to Flybe last November, with aims to complete the deal by the close of 2006. Timelines for the acquisition have since slipped several times.
During a 16 February meeting a joint steering committee fixed today as the likely acquisition completion date. A stock exchange announcement was due to follow tomorrow.
But a BA Connect spokeswoman says: “Due to extended legal processes associated with the sale of BA Connect to Flybe, the completion date has been deferred and is unlikely to occur on 1 March as expected.”
