Social life at Thomas Cook?

Hello all!!

Was wondering if anyone could share some info regarding the current benefits and perks that flight crew receive as part of their contract, such as staff travel, medical, profit sharing etc...

Would also be great if any current or former tcx pilots could share their insights and thoughts on life within the company at the moment!!I am currently going through their sponsorship programme out in nz so any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Social life at Thomas Cook?

Apologies for stealing the thread idea about hte social life at EZY, however it is a good question..

For the record im a loco 737 FO, and ive had no problems with the social life, and im at a bigger base - LGW. It took a little effort like anything else, but it hasn't been a problem.

I now have the opportunity to join Thomas Cook, and was wondering about the social life there. I understand how different it is as a company to a loco, so I wonder now how these differences manifest themselves in terms of social life...

I know about loco life, and about life at a flag carrier, but little about life flying for a holiday airline. I'd appreciate any feedback from those with said experiences..

Many thanks

Sag.

On the whole I guess its a great place to work for, nice guys 'n girls even in sunny LGW i believe. Very busy May to Oct but then, at least at the mo, the winter is quiet with maybe only 5 or 6 days at work. Social life will depend where you live but, if you makes the effort I'm sure you'll gets your rewards.

Good luck for the future

Thomas Cook Rosters.

Any feed back on TC Roster patterns. Does this vary between Fleets, Boeings or Airbus? Thanks.:)

Yes,

Here's some feedback:

B757 generally seems to work harder than Airbus A320/330 fleet.

B757 at MAN,LGW,BHX,NCL,GLA,EMA.

A320 at MAN,LGW,STN.

A330 at MAN,LGW.

All pilots begin on same payscales. Each year you get approx 2% increment.

Each year, our BALPA CC negotiates a paydeal in addition to the above.

NO DIRECT ENTRY CAPTAINS.

FO payscale begins around £33k for below ATPL

SFO payscale begins about £43000 for above ATPL.

Time to Command about 12 years as a guess for new joiners, assuming no expansion.

Now, here's the interesting bit:

You probably won't get a choice of fleet really. Therefore, it would be worth deciding where you wish to be based in an ideal world......

As for rosters, well in Winter they are generally very quiet.

In Summer you can expect 90+ hours a month varied between days and nights..... and you won't be able to influence your roster.

Good luck. See you on line soon I hope.
