Pilots strike at Hapag Lloyd?
Gather from a mate of mine that the Pilots at TUI's biggest Airline have just balloted for strike action.
Would imagen the managers at TUI Hanover are involved in a dangerous game of brinkmanship with the boys at Hapag Hanover. The Pilots are not happy at all I gather:ugh: . Any one with further info? BW - G-Warning |
Really? I wonder what the hapag guys are complaining about....??

tui is getting more and more greedy. asked hapag to be benchmarked. result was to set mark for a compulsory pay-change. that was fixed in written contract with pilots union. they were thinking of cutting pay. but oops: hapag crews are rather inexpensive compared to the competitors in the benchmark. now suddenly, they don't give a u-know-what anymore for the benchmark they requested and the contract.:= now they're offering paycut and no future perspectives for expansion. rather they try to transfer all the "classic" hapag routes to HLX (hapag lloyd express). HLX will be operated by the cheapest bidder, most likely germania. (yes, they are flying OUR NAME, but it's a different aoc) and they're threatening to cut jobs in a "crisis". the definition of "crisis" will be made by tui, of course.:ugh: since tui bought hapag it's been on the way down. pilots thinking of jumping ship. |
As I suspected. TUI are playing with fire one this issue, the global Pilot scene and the massive number of seats that Hapag move will be very damaging to the business. No one I know wants to strike but the Pilots are being pushed into a corner.
Whats next for Thomsonfly in the world of TUI???? |
tui is paying 4,8% dividend per share and this is germany's second highest percentage (% based on stock value)
preussag fools don't realize mass tourism currently isn't big-money-biz. and thats where the squeezing starts... |
I thought TUI was making good money in Tourism? Is the dividend to share holders a big one related to profits?
|
no the dividend is not good the only way to make more money so the top suits can get bonus is by boosting profit that is by cutting wages for the pilots :yuk:

Have not seen anything about this thread on the German AIRLINE PILOT BOARD (pilots.de)?
|
You wont see much information there, the only place to find real information is on www.vcockpit.de, unfortunately for members only. I am sure we will see a result very soon.

Read in the press, that HAPAG LLOYD pilots accepted the new offer!
Ergo, no strike! |
Any details on the offer?

looks like they are moving the monthly hour base from 60 to something like 70, while adjusting the pay along with it. not really a rise, but it's taking the risk of low-hour-low-pay during off-season from the employee back to the company .where it belongs and where it should have been in the first place, and where other companies usuallly keep it.
