I have a FAA ATP and intend to convert to JAA. I am currently a Captain on the Erj145, and I am just getting started with the ground portion of the conversion (14 subjects). How long can it realistically take to complete the 14 exams and how much is a checkride in the 145 sim?
I would be interested in sharing the sim when I am done with the ground portion.

The 14 ATPL exams will probably take you about a year to do if you are holding down a full time job.

Hey JetDriven,

If you're a Captain then maybe you only need to do 2 of the wriiten exams only. Of the top of my head I think you 3,000hrs on mutli crew heavy jet aircraft or something similiar. Just my 2 cents worth but maybe it's prudent to look it up in LASORS found on the CAA website.

Best of luck.

emb 145 conversion

I am an f/o on the emb145 and have completed the exams. Currently looking for a sim partner to share the cost. The latest price I was given was 8000 pounds by ba connect. I think that is outrages expensive and looking for other places to do the checkride.

I concur with boogie nicey, look it up in LASORS dont do them all if not required, you should of had an Assesment by the CAA Im assuming you are after a UK JAA issued licence, then they would of issued you with and official paper of what you required. took me 18 months from first study and attending the 2 two week brushups to completely passing all 14.
