What to expect on the orange side

Would any of the easy guys be able to give an insight into what you can expect basing wise with easyjet, if you were lucky enough to make it through the interview. Do you tend to get what you want? or if not how long is the wait for a transfer ? are some bases more popular than others?
The other bit of advice I was after is what are the min requirements for command selection? If you had the hours is there a certain period of time you need with the company before you would be considered? Is there a greater chance for command on the 737 or the 319?
Lots of questions and appreciate any advice or experience anyone has.
Thanks

First of all, the current bases for each type are as follows;

B737NG -

Newcastle, Luton, Belfast

Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow are being converted to Airbus by the end of the year

AIRBUS -

Gatwick, Bristol, Stansted, East Midlands

easyJet are pretty flexible on basing. They will offer you a base on successful completion of interview, and you have the right to apply for a base transfer. Obviously, if you are a Captain these transfers are limited as I know the main command bases are currently Luton and Belfast. If you were to be offered a command, it will most likely be at one of those 2 bases initially.

I could not tell you whether there would be a greater command chance on the Boeing or Airbus, however there are going to be more Airbus than Boeing, so it could be either way.

Hope this helps

LVLCHG,
Thanks very much for the reply, you mentioned Belfast and Luton are command bases, is that because there not very popular.
As an SFO,would you know were I would find the requirements for command, once in the company is there a minimum time period

there's an ever increasing queue for commands in BFS so you can safely rule that out.

It's worth mentioning that upon completion of your command course you will probably be sent to some far off base to languish for months or even longer until your turn on the base transfer list eventually comes up. Any future possible DECs would skew that timescale severely.

Factor all that into your cost of living and relationships. Note there is no workable staff travel system at present to get you home for days off.

There is, however, a constant chronic shortage in Luton, so if London happens to be where you want to be, you will likely stay there for the forseeable.
