Ryanair ad in flight

Ryanairs advertised terms and conditions in the latest Flight International are factually INCORRECT.

There is no STABLE 5-4 roster. This roster was rejected by 95% of all pilots at a vote in march. Why?because the company can change the roster to 5-3 and 5-2 whenever they see fit and they will also reduce your annual leave allocation to 12 days per year. Therefore it is impossible to have any fixed pattern outside of the week in which you are working.
You will also complete your recurrent training, sim training and medicals etc in your days off.
The quoted figure of £37,000 sector pay is INCORRECT.Average sector pay is now £1700 per month and this will be reduced for new joins,as part of the "5-4" fictional roster is that you agree to be paid by the scheduled sector hour at a lower rate that those currently employed.Maximum sector pay is £20,400.
You have been warned,do not come crying in your pay packet when the harsh reality bites.

With this sim on days off cr*p. Why not go sick if they screw up plans you have. I guess you wont need to submit a self cert sick form as it is a "day off" and you aren't being paid. Therefore you can't be given an unauthorised sick day. A day off is what it is, and that's A DAY OFF! I see Luton are the only base to have voted this new deal in. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out there. Maybe the company will use it as an example of how good things can be and give them a cushy little number. Or more realistically, they'll be f***ed over in a big way and everyone else will see it as a lucky escape.

If you are that sure about the ad containing lies why not report them to the appropriate ad monitoring bureau and let them sort it out? I'm sure you would be able to back up your statement with hard evidence.
Somebody has to stop the rot!

That's called FRAUD mate. Contact the magazine as well - they are condoning this fraud by printing erroneous and misleading information.

Fraud Fraud Fraud.....

sector pay

Isn't the quoted figure of 37k for sector-pay a gross/pre-tax figure?

OneWorld22 12th April 2006 22:15

they are condoning this fraud by printing erroneous and misleading information.
And how the hell are FI compliant in "Fraud"? They print what their clients tells them, it's not up to them to try and ascertain the bona fides of every single client and whether what they print is correct!!

Wise up man....

Radalt, it is a calculation. It is not a guaranteed figure for payment. It starts as an estimated monthly payment (which seems to be far too high). As this is supposed to be "tax free" they "augment" their figure in a way that nobody understands (but which seriously over-estimates the actual realities / figure - ESPECIALLY for F/Os - due to different tax bands which they "forget" about).

There are thus a minimum of three seperate scams here. Bottom line, to compare a Ryanair salary with others you need to either "gross down" the Ryanair figures for comparision or to "gross up" the figures used by other companies to compare "like with like". This changes the "Ryanair reality" somewhat!

Welcome to the world of Ryanair. Is there really anyone left who has not been well and truely warned about this kind of Ryanair game?

Perhaps those that are stupid enough to fall for this advert shouldn't be flying anyway? :ouch:

fireflybob 15th April 2006 23:07

If as you say the advert is not factually correct then a complaint could be made to the Advertising Standards Authority who are, I believe, obliged to investigate such matters.
