MONARCH

Hello,
Couple of more Questions for monarch a300 pilots out there.

1. Where is the main base for a300 pilots or do they use all tree bases or can choose or request a perfered base?

2. Do the company have a detailed route structure for the a300 and would anyone within the company be able to tell me a detailed list of destinations that they use the a300 for and what one they have overnights on?

3. If a a300 pilot when do you suspect monarch to phase out the a300, and if so are you required to sign a bond agreement on the new aircraft they assign you?

4. Are there many pilots leaving to go elsewhere and basically whats life like there?

Thanks for you help.

Answers,

1. Although they look like monkeys they dont live in trees:p . At present they will only base you at MAN or LGW.

2. This changes all the time. At present the 300 does a lot of longhaul to India over the winter (crews stay Bahrain). Summer is mostly around Europe. One aircraft has been based in Dublin for the last few summers.

3. Strong rumours of a slow reduction from 4 to 0 over the next few years. Nothing firm that the crews know of. Bond? No way. Just a type change. This already goes on frequently.

4 A few have left, most enjoy it and the majority live in fear of getting an A320/321 type conversion (bond free).
