Easyjet Basing Policy
 

Could anyone please enlighten me as to the stabilty of your base at easyjet. I would like to know if once you are given a base (hopefully of your choice) if you can be moved around at managements leisure or can you be confident that you will not be moved. Also I would like to know what easyjet's policy is on hand flying the aircraft - is it encouraged or quietly discouraged? Any information would be gratefully recieved.

Until up to "Command" you are quite safe for the base you have been stationed.

Handflying policy??? If you have five earlies and twenty sectors and !!!!ty wx and high traffic airports, you will love an AIRBUS automatic capabilities!
If that is you are worried about most, you are a lucky man!:)

Hand flying is not discouraged as long as the weather is good, workload is not to high and the Captain is happy for you to do it then it is encouraged but after a month on the line you'll be to knackered to be bothered to hand fly :zzz:

You may be rostered from another base for a short period to cover a shortage, but this will typically only be for a few days. As was previously posted, some bases are difficult to return to after accepting a promotion elsewhere.

i am in a base, not of my choosing.
I have a valid bid in for another base, fly the aircraft type at the base i wish to be at, but new joiners are jumping ahead.

wingandprayer are you in BALPA? As there are a few tribunals kicking off at the moment about the base transfer policy being abused.

:) can anyone help me please, how can i get a position in bsl as Fo on airbus with easyjet, waiting time to get to bsl,salary in chf.,sector pay.
i am avro rated 4500 total,living in switzerland.
in the forum i only find topics concerning jobs in the eu.

Albert, the pay in Easy Jet Switzerland is the same. See PPJN. 70-90 kCHF plus sector pay (dependant on length). You can apply for a seat in BSL immediatly, if positively selected. EJS has a separat seniority list. Most of BSL and GVA pilots are your former collegues. It helps if you know someone there.

Are you honestly suggesting to 'wing and prayer' that BALPA would help him ref. basing pass-over?

This would insinuate they are capable of asking the company to stick to this gentlemans agreement.

Do you have an opinion on the value of tits on bulls too?

No i am not in balpa, but having had first hand experience of them trying to get a company to stick to its agreements, i have to agree with F&B.

Interesting though about the annual income alone from easy. I wonder how much they get annually from all membership.
Do you get VFM???

thanks for info, i ve heard that you have to go first to UK than waitinglist and so on....
So I understand everything is the same as UK, 5 on 2 off 5 on 4 off etc , just the salary in CHF, and taxes as well, Pensionskasse up to 7%???

You do selection with EJ UK but finally get employed with EJ Switzerland. The later is a completly independent company according Swiss laws, incl pension fund, AHV aso.

Roster is mostly 5-3-5-3ish, but I saw guys flying 6 days sometimes, mostly 4 sectors a day. You get paid per sector, so you will like it!

I guess there is a waiting list, depends on how much they like you (if you are type rated you might bypass), but you can start in BSL directly, once you are hired.

I only remember it was very cold that day and raining , so we went for a pizza.
Thanks for info, I think i will apply, since the new offer from Swiss is rubbish, even MCs get better paid when you take pension (Einmahlzahlung) in consideration, but nobody really cares anymore, they all gave up and accept every:mad: .

Well Wingandprayer, BALPA have just helped a Captain win a tribunal against the company with regard to it's basing policy. One tribunal does not set a precedent but if they consistently lose tribunals they'll change their policy.....

If you've been passed over for a base launch a tribunal as you'll probably win it. Since you're a non member best of luck, if you were a BALPA member you'd get lot's of help from the CC.

Pays yer money (or not in your case) and takes your choice....;)
