Got talking to one last year who quoted £60,000 for an experienced Captain, operating worldwide

Out of interest how do you become an airship pilot? What sorts of licences are there for it?

Wannabe24 25th January 2006 18:03

and most importantly of all does the time count towards you TT if applying for a job with an airline!

....£60,000 for an experienced Captain,
Does that include inflation?

I suppose that would depend on whether the economy was in a "boom" or a "bust" situation!

Looks like it'll be a Good Year for airship pilots......etc etc

By the way, what ever happened to that German company who were planning to produce super airships capable of moving cargo containers around the world?

They're bust, and the hangar (360 by 210 by 107 m, and allegedly "world's largest single hall without supporting pillars inside") now houses a "Tropical Island" theme park.

A buoyant market?

Are they going to float the company?
