'Time assignable' - you've sold your soul:)

Rainboe 19th January 2006 16:05

Time Assignable. It is a way of getting your hours up to Cap on a Blind Line and making you available for fairly short notice work should you be needed. Don't worry- it's good.

Hand Solo 19th January 2006 16:26

Its all in your bidline rules, but in short you are contactable between defined hours the day before to work the next day. If you have two days TASS together you can be collared for a three day trip which starts on day 1 of the TASS but the last day will be overtime.

Megaton 19th January 2006 16:41

What about "TS BEGIN 0430 END 1630"?

Gazeem 19th January 2006 18:21

HP only 12 hours CBs a day! Out in WARQ we have them 24/7!:ok:

Megaton 19th January 2006 18:22

You're a funny chap, Gazeem. What you up to at the moment?

And the TS refers to our rosters not the wx! Smart ar5e!

freightdogg 20th January 2006 08:20

thanks all,freightdogg.;)

BYMONEK 20th January 2006 15:35

Well............that's cleared that up then!

maxy101 20th January 2006 21:29

BTW If you are on a Blindline it is the TA days only that you are available for work, not TA + 1

Megaton 20th January 2006 21:45

So does anyone know what TS on the roster means?

timsan 20th January 2006 22:07

This is very worrying thread. If you have to make a post to read your roster, how are you going to manage when the skipper passes you the MEL and asks for your take on a matter of servicability.

Buter 20th January 2006 22:49

get out your blackberry and post the question in the tech forum!

Ham Phisted

So does anyone know what TS on the roster means?
If you log on to the BALPA website http://www.balpa.org and post this question on the Scheduling forum one of the experts will give you an answer.

Megaton 21st January 2006 08:06

Thanks, Timsan, you've been a big help. What exactly is the correlation between deciphering the company's specific codes on a roster and offering a sensible opinion on a serviceability issue? Incidentally, as a former aircraft engineer I think I'm probably far more qualified than many around here to offer such opinions. Fortunately, from your profile, it doesn't look like we'll be running into each other in the near future because you're clearly full of it!

maxy101 21st January 2006 09:05

Ham Phisted.....Just remember that you are the other side of the MEL now,

Megaton 21st January 2006 09:18

I hadn't but there is never an excuse for being rude for the sake of it. What about there being no such thing as a dumb question?

maxy101 21st January 2006 09:22

Ham Fisted...I'm with you 100%...there are no dumb questions in aviation. Or perhaps there are. Someone could start a new thread on it? However,as the above posters mentioned, it is worth getting your head into Bidline rules when you can. Otherwise, the company WILL take advantage of you.

Megaton 21st January 2006 09:28

Understood and wilco :)
