I do not see the problem! Vote NO! The more voting NO, the easier for the CC to go on!

Looking furthermore ahead, industrial action, arbitration, the union (CC) can always say, we negotiated in "good faith" (we did not try to fail the negotiations!)

So, who said it is going to be easy at EASY?!
Important is that everybody voting NO got the guts to go to industrial action!

Its a crap deal and we've finally had the "its the best deal on offer by negotiation" statement of capitulation by a CC who have been duped by the Company but can't be seen to lose face by advising us to vote "no". The Company insist that the figures used were Balpa's, therefore it would seem that the Union has shot itself in the foot (again). Not only that, but we have waited a further two weeks for "revised" figures, but are being balloted on the original ones (which the Company admitted were wrong!)

There is less than 75% Balpa membership within easy, so even if 55% (my guess) vote against the CC then that only represents less than half the workforce. This would not be a mandate for industrial action but will inevitably lead to a vote of no confidence in the CC who will (one assumes) resign their positions.

Unfortunately Balpa have already given the Company what they want - a split vote and a mandate to do exactly as they please.

Imho Balpa are finished in easyJet - they couldn't even manage to get Euro pre paid envelopes for ballot returns sent to our EU colleagues - very amateur and disappointing for an organisation that has seen a huge increase in revenue from easyJet pilots.

Finally, whilst all this time wasting has been going on, the Company have agreed an extension to the 5254 rostering trial with the CAA, much to the surprise of Balpa - who were not consulted.

Anybody who votes "yes" to this deal will get what they deserve!

Well if the 5/4/5/4 Ryanair rumour comes good then we will see another mass exodos from the land of orange! Ryanair has never been my cup of tea but I would chase that lifestyle.

The fight we are currently fighting is to try to become so much more then that! Keep your heads up and vote NO!!!

Its moving a bit off topic but something always worth looking at is the senior management pay packages....wind the clock back a few years and ask yourself
1. what the directors were earning and
2. how many members of senior management were earning as much or more than a Capt's salary.

Compare that to today....

the current salaries for the directors are certainly a lot higher (quick example...from Annual Reports....old finance director left on £166k pa, new finance director on £250k pa...)

in the early days, only a handful of people earned in excess of a Capts salary (cicra 50k in 1998), now.... can't put a number on it but have a look at the 40 members of the senior management group....

and what about interim managers on £1200 a day (yes, that is one thousand two hundred pounds per day)....

If there's no money left in the pot, its because its been p*ssed away!

The main winner in the new pay proposal is.... BALPA.
Hey, the basic goes up 23%, the sector pay nearly disappear, pilot get 3% alltogether. But BALPA are still 1% of the basic. I'm not surprise they recommend the deal. It's a huge increase on their revenue.
Should they share a bit with us?;)

It appears 5 2 5 4 is to be extended 6 more months.... I can't afford the therapy or accident, particularly on my new so called 'pay rise', which was based on hypothetical sectors. (Funny how the long word beginning with H equals less........)

Just got in with easy at the 737, most likely Luton... NOT through CTC so will start fully qualified in May. What pay can I expect? As per easy website something like 30.000 for the first 6 months and then 33.000 thereafter? + around 7000 flight pay? Should I join BALPA as well?

Any advises would be appreciated. Do you know about any Icelanders with easy? (And not the famous FL Group investors!!)

Surely this would be better on the Balpa forum where you are talking directly with the people you are trying to influence and not a load of others looking for a cheap headline!

I think that in recommending the deal, the CC has made a tactical move for two very important reasons:

1) It provides good cover for the managment/media fallout once we reject this offer and move to stage 3. It will be much harder for the EZY spin doctors to accuse "the union" as "greedy pigs wanting to bankrupt the company."

2) It´s a test for the membership to see if they actually have the balls/stomach/backbone to reject this offer and fight for a better and fair deal!

Yep, and then what?! I'm a bit concerned about what happens after the vote..The vote will most prob be 80+% NO if you ask me, only question is what our CC will do with the result? I think WE need to turn the "game" around and start stipulating the rules. WE need to put our "offer" on the table rather then the other way around..The company is just sitting back waiting for the results and then they will up the offer step by step until they get enough votes to put it on paper...This way they will make sure they get the cheapest deal they can get away with....:mad:
