Pat on the back for the IPA/IPF!

I had a phone call today from the Independent Pilots Association/Federation to check whether I was affected by the imminent shutdown of the Channel Express A300 fleet. Very fortunately I'm on the B737 fleet, but I'm really impressed that they took the trouble to ask.

Would BALPA have done that?

IPA/IPF have been most helpful regarding a bonding issue with out new intake. Keep up the good work!

No, Balpa would have saved resourses because they would have known which fleet you were on! One benefit of the 1% rule I suppose...

Seer,

Chill dude, nothing wrong about a positive post.

Mind you is that the same BALPA that agrees with anything the airlines management puts forward, rather than looking out for its members. As far as I'm concerned they are a bunch of toothless wonders:ok:

Would BALPA have done that. No - they would be too busy arguing about the Chancellor's cap on pension funds to benefit the top .01% of it's wealthiest members.

Seer,

IPA/IPF didn't know my fleet because I had omitted to tell them.

"Would BALPA have done that?"

I didn't intend this as a snipe at BALPA, honest! I simply wanted to hear about the relative merits of IPA/IPF and BALPA.
