MK-Airlines

Hi folks,

has anyone some information about MK-Airlines? Actually I am interested in general stuff, like rosters, pay, crew bases, company culture...I didn't find much information in this forum.

Thanks a lot in advance guys!

greetings

may I respectfully suggest you have a look at this thread?

I think there has been a bit of a shake up at MK, since recent events.

Also hear anyone with a JAA licence could be in demand soon.

MK Airlines

Anyone know much about MK Airlines? Have an upcoming interview.

HQ in Hartfield, East Sussex.

Owned by a Zimbabwean chap, Mike Kruger.

Fly DC8 and 747 classic, based Ostend (?), registered in Ghana.

Lots of Zimbabweans working for them.

They fly scheduled cargo ops in and around Africa. Seem like a nice bunch, and I've met quite a few bods who work for them. However, purse strings are very tight at the moment due (in part) to the tragic accident in Halifax last year (caused by a faulty roll rate indication?).

PIA747 14th January 2005 04:16

MK pilots seem to be rather tight lipped about their company.

Anyone knows what is their requirements for a first officer? should i send application to UK or Zimbabwe?

Pav 15th January 2005 07:21

Anyone got any info on rosters patterns, pay, commands etc?

Ttailed 15th January 2005 09:27

Hi there,

Send your aplication in via their website at www.mkairlines.com apperently their pay structure has changed and the crew now get paid a retainer and a daily rate for when they are at work, they seem to be working for 2-3 weeks at a time and then about the same time at home thats on average it may ofcourse vary with demand and crewing logistics.

The chaps do seem to get command rather quickly but with their current safety record this might get put on hold I would think.

Anyway give it a go !

Good luck,

Tt

Does MK have a pilot base at Manston? I know most of the crews are Zimbabwean or South African with bases down South I presume. Are any pilots based in the UK?

Also, what's the likelihood of getting hired onto the DC-8 vs. the 747 as an FO? What is the minimum experience (hours) required for that type of position?

Cheers

Thanks Tt for the info. Can anyone give me any numbers on the pay or any other useful info on the contract?

Having an interview coming up as well. Including tests and sim ride. Information on the net is very rare. Hardly anything to find what's not in this forum yet! Anybody who can help me out? Thanks.

So... The most important question: How much do they pay? Terms & Conditions ?????

Please no "It's all about the lifestyle" answers. Just plain simple how much does one earn. with MK as Captain F/O or F/E?
