How does it all add up? BACX allowances

I am trying to find out the total salary and take home for BACitiExpress (Dash8) or for most other tp operators. Having looked at bacitiexpressjobs and ppjn I am still unclear how it all adds up. Does anyone know whether there are additional allowances paid for nights away/food/hotels whether you may or may not spend all of it? Flight/duty pay- is flight pay different to duty pay?
Finally come the end of the month how much makes it into ones pocket/pub?
Many questions-due much confusion!

On tp they start on 20k.
Flight pay is £1.50. before tax. You're rostered to do about 200 dutyhrs a month on average.
Hotel is booked on B&B basis, so you don't have to pay for brekkie.
Remember that the national average salary is 25k....
and you just forked out 60k for your training. great, ehh?

Make absolutely sure you talk to as many BACX current serving pilots before you sign on the line - if that's what you're thinking about.
It's not all bad, there are some great characters, some really good girls and boys. Unfortunately they are led (and I use the word very advisably) by some of the biggest dunderheads in Aviation Management history. Most of these dunderheads are fully signed up to the punitive and 'kick you when you're down' school of management. Thus, this airline consistently finishes in the top three of the annual competition for Lowest Morale, Highest Pilot Turnover, and Most Disciplinary Hearings competitions.
Oh, the rosters usually win the 'Most Altered' prize as well, with an extra award for consistency in the 'Finish on a Late, Start on an Early' routine surrounding days off and leave.

Try Flybe - at least they know how to make a profit!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I am happy to see that NOTHING has changed since the good old days of Manx Airlines aka BRAL.

Seems that nobody ever learns!!

I got out and kept my sanity and if Guy Storey is still out there drop me a line buddy Ian Donnan spoke of you!

For a first time job, grab it. You need to fly a decent type and although a Dash8 is no jumbo jet I am sure its bigger than what you have been flying.

Allowances !! What allowances, as Sparkle says its £1.50 an hour. Absolute rubbish.

Once you get the type and a few decent hours my advice is.. leg it fast from BACX, rubbish employer, its that simple

Good Luck

Thanks for the responses. I am still excited to be moving on (if and when). I do understand and empathise with the issues and frustrations that you all mention. However as all instructors and small air taxyers will appreciate that even the concept of a roster, let alone flight pay and a contract are promotion enough! I love the job, I just want to move up the ladder so that the cr*p has less far to drop!
