Has anybody heard any news on the state of play of BA citiexpress? Last I heard, they were probably getting some EMB170/195. No decision as yet as to whether they will recruit from the pool this year. Has anybody heard of recent low hour pilots being called up?

As far as I am aware they have not yet called anyone from the hold pool. There was talk of a Jan/Feb class, but that seems doubtful now after the latest rumours from MAN. Looks like it could turn into another long term hold pool :(

seems like many people are in this frustrating position. The advice from BACX is that you don't sit around hoping for the sun to shine and that you continue looking elsewhere. It is re-assuring to know that there will one day be a job if you are prepared to wait.

I take it you are also swimming in the pool?!:ugh:

I'm in the turboprop holding pool, and have been hearing (and reading) rumours that BACX are getting rid of their turboprops - therefore people like me won't be needed.

Anyone any views on this? - it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There are quite a few courses starting over the next few months and there's movement in the ranks again after so long, so I wouldn't give up hope if you're in the pool - chances are the phone will ring.

As for the turbo props, yes the long term plan is to be an all jet fleet. So, you start on the turbo prop & end up flying a jet. Is that a big problem?
