Ryanair recruiting
Has anybody got any info regarding the recruiting situation at FR at the moment? The reason I ask is that I originally applied before I had a 737 rating and I'm loth to spend another £50 just to tell them I've got the rating if there's little chance of a result.
Thanks in anticipation. |

Thanks, BW
I know the problems, but any job is better than no job. |
Pirate,
no idea about the recruitment status. However....... I applied in a moment of desperation and sent off my fifty smackers. Got the automated e-mail saying 'thanks and don't call us'. So I've waited over 3 months, with no contact. Sent an e-mail asking for an update (as promised) and was gob smacked to get the mail returned. Twice! Been onto the credit card company. The £50 is now back in my account, subject to their enquiries backing up my complaint of total lack of service. Plenty of hours in both seats, 8000 total time and of the opinion that no job is better than getting involved. Chip on my shoulder, Moi? It ain't no laffing matter! |
NLM....same thing happened to me, TWICE!
First time i let it go, this last time last May i called and was able to speak to DD, explaining the matter. Claimed my money back after being told my application was not on file. DD told me to call back, which I did, a few times, and no DD. Did get his word on hiring; DE Capts must have over 500+hr PIC in type, FO´s are a dime a dozen dont bother. Still havent sorted out the 50 pounds but do wonder about the mysterious e-mails from some hacker that apparently might have a line into Ryans on-line credit system. Another thought. I applied to Emirate recently and was pleased to get a reply. But negative because in the original app. form i left out a thousand and a half command hours in the Falcon...which could be a determining factor in getting interviewed...so i went to the website to flightcrew applications and clicked on update and lo and behold THERE IS NO WAY TO GET IN even with the reference number assigned to your application ! So, i " mistaked " my way out of a possible interview... Anybody any suggestions on how to update with EMIRATES ? |

Thanks for that - looks like a Catch-22 situation all round if you're experienced! NLM Looks like we're in the same sort of situation, hours wise. It gets worse too. Apparently eJ have gone overboard with their system of a recommendation from an easy pilot who has flown with you in the past, to the extent that it's virtually impossible to get an interview without such a chum. Sad thing is, I may well know someone on the inside but, unless they publish their crew list, I can't tell. Another 10 000+ hours going to waste. |

If you've not had a reply at all from your FR application then maybe get onto your credit card company? Perhaps if enough of us who have heard nothing do this it may gain the Pilot community some respect back? Go on. Burn that bridge baby! No idea on the Emirates website problem, sorry. Other than how about a fresh application from a different e-mail address? I have considered the airline myself. Big plans afoot there and it would be nice to fly a wide body. I know I couldn't take the heat though and the money isn't what it was, even tax free. Pirate I too am perplexed by ej recruitment. I know that they have 16000 applications (inc.8000 wannabes) so it must be possible to get lost in their system. However, if only 10% of what you read about easy and ryan is true, then I have to be honest and say that I don't want to work for them anyway. That chip is back again! A matter of the King who wore no clothes (unless you buy your own!)? There are better organisations to fly for and I for one am going down that road! Good luck guys, it ain't no laffing matter! |
guys, a recommendation from an EZY pilot will not necessarily get you in any faster! been there done it etc. I gather the system is jammed solid at the minute. They're also concentrating on Bus people for now as the Boeing rating courses are being scaled down (maybe there's hope for type rated guys?). The only advantage with a recommendation is that the 'recommendor' can phone up recruitment and see if there's any progress.

If you want to save GBP 50 for RYR: Apply to the TRTO directly even if you are a captain or go to brookfield directly as for you 50 quid that is all that personell will do for you: route you to them!

Certainly there's something badly wrong with eJ recruitment. I went to the Bournemouth roadshow in March and made a point of telling one of the team that I had 10 000 hours and a 737 rating. He said they would be very interested, to update my on-line application and they'd be back to me soon. I'm still waiting. |
Does anyone know how the EZY recommend a pilot scheme works?
My mate tried to put a recommend on the system and it said to make sure that his name went on my application in the 'referee name' box first. The only referee box I could find was the personal referee (I haven't known my mate at EZY for 5 years) which suggests that this is not the correct box - and given that the system is automatic that will probably mean than it will never be seen:( He also said that he tried calling recruitment many times with no answer |
his name goes in the 'personal referee' box..you got it right.

I don't think recruitment ever answer that phone. |
So if you follow the instructions correctly you cannot recommend someone you have only known for 4 and a half years?
That seems a bit harsh - I can understand the need for a 5 year history to vouch for a chap's (or chapess's) political or terrorist leanings, but not to suggest whether or not his CV might be worth looking at!:uhoh: |
Word of advice.......NEVER APPLY TO FR ON THE NET.
Of all the pilots that i know that got into FR it was by personal recommendation and knowing the right people. Not one of the 20 or so FR lads and lassies that I know got in with that rip off £50 fee. In fact it would be interesting to see if anyone has and if not what explanation MOLLY has for it. Things are still tight in the industry but i emplore you to hang on as long as you can before applying (and wasting £50) to FR. I had an interview....sorry sermon by DD and didn't get in and thank God I didnt as I got a job a year later and paid nothing for my type rating. Ok so I may not earn as much as a FR pilot but I dont owe £10-15-20,000 or what ever it is they are now charging and financially it is easy for me to move up the scale than leave a very well paid job in FR to join a lower payer because im not happy. |
