Air Atlanta Expansion
I was sitting in the Hilton Hotel lounge the other day and I got to chattin with some colleagues about Air Atlanta. Apparently the rumour is that Air Atlanta is going to be taking on some 74Fs in the very near future. If I got the story right, they are planning to operate them for a European outfit on a long term basis. Rumour is also that they are going to be eating up a few shares while they are at it. I guess this means they are going to be offering a lot more 744 positions then we all thought??? Has anybody got some more information on this? This definitely goes to show that they are the right horse to bet on!
Cheers! WEC |
It's 2 747-400f and they will be on a 2 year lease to Iberia.
|
Wylie,I'm not sure what a 74F is,but Atlanta Icelandic have two 747-400(ex Singapore) doing pax flights to Cuba and the Canary Islands. That contract is for 3 years I think. They also have three ex Lufthansa 747-230SCDs doing freight for Lufthansa Cargo, and I think that contract is even longer..then there's City Direct(X2) and Virgin(X2)..but Ithink the Virgins are flown by their own crews. There are rumours of 777s too.
|
Well it is not...
... -400F's for lease to Iberia but 2 PAX airplanes. Rumours are rampant on this forum, hence the name:D
AAI is expanding, try not to listen to all the rumours floating around or atleast keep the BS filter activated. AD |
I have seen a couple of Atlanta 747's through Prestwick operating Air France freight flights
|
triple 7's thats a new one!
|
TREBLE 7's...... Abra, really.....! Have you been talking with Jerry O again?:}
Why not start a rumour that AAI's gonna be a launch customer for the 7E7? Get a grip, young man. |
Kato..Do get a grip old man,Pprune is for serious rumour mongers. With old 777s becoming available it is reasonable to assume that already operating 73,74,75 and 767s,the 777 will be next.
I find it interesting that to fly a push button 747-400 you get paid more than for flying a Classic, even if it is only 50 bucks a day. |
Air Atlanta recruiting
People of the sky !!
My first time on the forum. Wet behind the ears! I want to ask a question and hopefully a couple of you can and will answer me. At the moment I am flying for a small Air Taxi Company. In the end of August I am invited to the assessment days for Air Atlanta Icelandic. Perfect of course!! But what to expect?? It will take place in London Gatwick. Does anybody knows what kind of tests I get (Please as detailed as possible)? What kind of simulator, approaches etc? Thanks you guys....... |
Abra.... you may be right. The 777 is a nice beast, but the "Jurassic" will be around for a few more years yet.
Your comments re: -400 drivers only getting $50 more/day is a bit farther off the mark.... AAI offering a LOT more than that at the Madrid base through Airborne. :{ |
Sjaaksjon
Be yourself. If you can fly, the sim ride will be no problem. As far as the tech quiz goes, nothing in there that you would not encounter during everyday operations. Bone up on hold enteries, though. You never know, if you are of a certain nationality, have flown a mediam weight twinjet for certain airlines, you could possibly be offered a command on the 742 with a 5min interview and no tech or sim check. Good luck. |
Careful FKA
Not everyone is "fortunate" enough to have been weaned on Vegemite. ...and besides Robbo's not the best example to use. He's buggered off to Singapore we hear. Cheers, mate |
Are Norwegians weaned on vegemite??
|
How long does it normally take to get a call after sending in an application?
Also, who is the Airborne that is mentioned above? Thanks rwelch |
Any thoughts on the above questions?
|
rwelch: How long is a piece of string? Waiting for application acknowledgements is notorious for being inconvenient.

HI
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME DETAILS ABOUT THE AIR ATLANTA TECH QUIZ. I HAVE I/V THERE SOON AND NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TECH QUIZ. DETAILS PLEASE:confused: |
COP
Ease up and calm down. Why should you be given a special preview of the questions?? This could be expected from a bannana republic in the third world, things like that are not broadcast in the northern hemisphere. Read my first post. Hell, if I "made it" anyone can, right? |
COP
I agree with "Formally known as" , but if you cannot remember basic flight questions, try a book such as this to refresh your memory. Ace the Technical Pilot Interview by Gary v. Bristow, Gary Bristow Cheers VP |
B'Jeezs COP its really quoite simple. If you'll just be signin the Jerry J-scale contract, on d' datted loin where I show ya, den yr Tech Quiz results will be forst class, Forst Claass d'ye hear!!
