Emirates, 10 Weeks profit share!

Thats about £13,000 on top of my basic salary for next month.. Great !!!Who says the grass is not green in the Sand!!!!????

Cheers:ok:

Yep, should just about cover the 30% loss in my salary due to the slump in the dollar in the past year and the estimated 40% inflation in the last 10 years.

Not wishing to look a gift camel in the mouth, but:

Profits up 67% should make the 'share' 13 weeks...

Get it into perspective: productivity up (increased flying hours),with no pay rise, erosion in Ts & Cs and the afore mentioned pay decline due $...the profit share is a necessity not a 'gift'...we earnt it.

Oh geesh you have it tough, hey?

Guess which airline I'll be looking after........NOT.

Royal Brunei 2.5% on basic. thats about 70 Pounds extra a month for me.

Profit share whats that !!! Good luck to anyone getting it and spend it wisely.:ok:

It was 'awarded' a few days ago. The lack of any comment until now is very indicative of the general mood here.

Mozzie makes a good point. A 67% increase in profits versus a 25% increase in profit share seems odd but, then, I'm not a bean-counter. Regardless, anyone would be happy to have an extra 10 weeks pay, no doubt.

I know the paupers in the RADAR rooms are far too professional to be "looking after" one airline over another.

It was 'awarded' a few days ago.
Meanwhile we can all await Professor of English Grammar, SecurID's explanation of the obvious error he deliberately inserted in the above "sentence" to test our vigilance.

Not that I care but when you jump on the grammar of others so pompously I'm surprised to see the above. At least I had the excuse of being inebriated.

Got ya........ :ok:

PS: Please PM me with a critique of my performance today.

Just remember that Emirates is a big company and owns most of the hotels and taxi's and even the airport.
So its not that the airline is making so much money. You try and find a hotel room in Dubai!
The hotels are fully booked most of the time !
But it is still amazing how a company can pay out a bonus of 10 weeks to ALL their employees!
And do they pay for fuel in Dubai?
Well done Emirates!!!

aagg...

Emirates makes money because of the low wages which we hope will be supplimented by the profit share...which has no guarentee of being paid out...

With recent safety events in mind and the current state of affairs in the airline part of the group, next years share is at risk of being much, much smaller... I hope I am wrong.

At the moment I'm looking to purchase a property here in Dubai. While any bonus/profit share is useful, an increase in basic pay is always better because at least mortgage and loan companies will include that in their calculations. Anybody care to speculate about how large or small the pay increase is likely to be in July?:ugh:
