BMI/Virgin

I have heard that there will soon be a merger. Does anyone know anything.

If you do a search on this and the Rumours and News forums, you will find plenty of discussion about this topic. As far as I can tell, no merger is likely unless Virgin can get (and use) BMI's slots at Heathrow. Virgin has no ambition to operate full-service shorthaul, which seems to be a guaranteed way to lose money just now, so what else is in it for them? The way I read it, this 'merger' (if it ever happened) would in fact be a takeover of BMI by Virgin in order to obtain slots, and for no other reason.

While Richard is in charge of one and Max the other, there will be no merger. Shame really, because if they had sorted out their differences about ten years ago, they would have really given BA something to worry about.

B-MI VIRGIN!

Indeed, what a GREAT name! Quick, someone tell that to Sir Richard! With a name like that, an early merger might be very tempting!:ok:

B-MI (Virgin) BABY

Route planning to the extreme! Only after the 'merger' one assumes... so who's the one that gets ******!

Don't go there.

:ok:
