Thomsonfly Terms and Conditions

Does anyone have any information about what Britannia are offering for their low-cost operation? I seem to remember some talk about it when the operation was proposed but cannot find it on a search. I presume that this must have been sorted out by now as the operation is about to launch.

Thanks for any info.

HI!

Check out this link: http://www.ppjn.com/jthomsonfly.html

I am starting there May 1st, after having laid off by SAS. Seems like a decent place to be for the time beeing. Their roster looks like 5 on/4 off as of now...Not bad, eh??

Thanks - useful info.

Sauter,

Congratulations on your Thomsonfly position. How many SAS pilots have also joined Thomsonfly? Will you have call-back protection and return to SAS eventually? Did you also consider Singapore Cargo positions like many of your former coworkers?

I have heard that the Coventry area is a nice place to live as well. Enjoy your new position - it should be an exciting place to be as things grow and expand.

Sauter 11th April 2004 21:46

LVL CHG:.. Yes I did consider SIA Cargo, but when I applied half a year ago, they told me I was "not competitive" with my 2500 TT hrs. I need at least 4000 TT they claimed. Besides, the roster seems better in Britannia (for now..) As of now, there are just me and my mate who have joined Britannia from SAS. As far as coming back, I don't think so, dude!! There are other companies out there. After what they did to us, I am not coming back at all. In fact, I think they are in serious trouble already. Enough said, already. It used to be a good company, but I'm afraid I have totally lost my faith in them...for good.

Sauter,

Good job. I think you made the right choice and flying for Thomsonfly will be great with upcoming expansion opportunities. I am sure you will appreciate all of the nice, sunny destinations (Palma, Malaga, Naples, etc.) - a bit different than the flying in Norway...

How do you like the Coventry area? How expensive is it to rent a flat in that area? I have no 737 experience but I am considering a type - I would like to fly for Thomsonfly myself.

Cheers

Coventry is a total dump (apart from one bit) try the towns to the south, Leamington, Warwick, Rugby (watch out for the anti airport campaigners) and the villages around them , they are much nicer.
Sauter which bit of SAS are you from Dansk, Svenska or Norway ?

Sauter 12th April 2004 17:38

Daysleeper, I am Norwegian.
BTW LVL CHG - I don't start my course before May 1st in Thomsonfly so I don't know much about the Coventry area. Tips on where/how to look for houses/flats in nice areas as well as good internet addresses would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Sjalabais.

Just reading this site, Why is everyone being so nice? I'm British, live in Britain, have just been made redundant with a whole host of other Brits and we all have 737 ratings. I have applied to about twenty airlines and can hardly get an interview. It must be because of all the imports. How about some support for our local boys and girls, instead of this lot of SAS guys. ( RIGHT MOVE.COM please.....)

RELAX,

I take it your morals are reciprocal and therefore you wouldn't DREAM of accepting a job any where else in the world for want of displacing a local.

There are still plenty of people hiring 737 rated crew. If you can't get an interview, I'd look to your attitude, rather than your ratings.

RELAX

Relax! Who wants to fly a 737 anyway?
