aircrew/ground crew associations

Pilots and engineers the world over are usually members of an Association of some discription. Are those who represent us tireless selfless individuals or are they self serving inside deal makers only interested in furthering their own individual and collective agendas? I invite feedback to this question.

Surely there must be some good/ill feeling about representative groups or are you all silenced by the hidden agenda?

Is this Rumour - or News? If you think an organisation has something to offer, joining is voluntary. If you don't like what you find, you resign.
Is this a general question about a specific situation?

The representative members have control of the world of aviation with regards wages and standards. When you join are you a willing contributer to what you believe is right or what they have already set as the norm?

I was wandering where and what all the association reps were doing when a major Dom/Int carrier collapsed in Oz. Can anyone tell me?

Avo reps

Even though it seems my forum has been relegated off the front page I will not be silenced. Association Reps are spending your membership contributions like there is no tomorrow. They enjoy a full unfetted years pay without doing the time on your members dues. They can justify this existance at annual meetings with members that are in on the joke.
More info in the future for those who will read.
