Channel Express/ Jet2 Interviews!

Is there anyone out there prepared to enlighten me as to what is involved / to be expected of the initial interview day at Bournemouth.
For those fortunate enough to be taken through the sim ride what was your experience, and what happened in there???
Many thanks , in anticipation.:ok:

Aquaplane 1,

Initial Interview day comprises overview of Dart Group, followed by interview with Personnel Manager, Aircrew Manager and Fleet Manager, verbal and numerical reasoning tests and Psychometric Testing.

I cannot comment on the sim. assessment.

Many thanks for your response. Is it fairly heavy going, or quite a relaxed day?
Thanks in anticipation.

The interview part day is ok, there's a psycho test of just over 200 questions, a verbal reasoning test and a numerical test. Interview is then fairly informal standard interview, there were no tech questions or gotchas. It was very friendly and relaxed throughout.

The sim was quite complex (in my humble opinion). It was in the 737 300 and consisted of take off and climb to 5000', level off and accelorate to 250 kts. Steep turns, one at 45 degrees bank and one at 60 degrees, then descend and level off. Engine failure to deal with before vectors to single eng ILS, go around to 3000', the engine is then restarted and further vectors to 2 eng ILS to land. All completed on raw data, no fligh director or automatics.

It was hard work in the sim, but very enjoyable. No knowledge is expected (except of flying of course). There's a very thorough briefing beforehand. They're just looking for your ability in general, not 737 knowledge.

Main thing is to relax and enjoy it, easy said, but it worked for me.

Good luck.

Jonathan

Many thanks for that in depth foresight into what lies ahead. Hope it works for me too, although I do have a while to wait yet!
Best of luck for your future course, I assume.

Johnny F@rt Pants,

I was just wondering what your experience level is as I am waiting to hear from them.

Thankyou

TSP3

I have 3300 hours, about 1800 on regional glass cockpit turbo prop with 3 & 1/2 years in the LH seat, and one year as a line training captain.

I know that NH (Aircrew Manager) has been on leave for the past couple of weeks, but he has been in the office this week. Maybe you've heard by now, if not give him a call, he doesn't seem to mind.

Good luck, if you're on the 3 Nov course let me know:ok:

Does anyone have any further comments from the last round of assessment days or simulator ride?
:ok: :ok:

What are the pilot bases? Anyone based on Bournmouth or only up north? What is the fleet growth expected to be?

4Screwaircrew 26th Sep 2003 01:53

Bases STN, LBA, EDI, operating 6 737 with a further aircraft wet leased, the Dart Group own 14 737 aircraft, which will come on line as they go through the hanger.

It's an interesting mix of work scheduled/low cost, holiday charter, mail and freight, sub contract, ad hoc charters and occasional ACMI leases.

Curently a mix of pax config and QC aircraft with pure freighters to be added to the mix in the future.

The 737 Channex/Jet2s Multi Role Charter Aircraft :ok:
