As I said it depends on length of trips, number of trips and how much you are bonded for. Also your arrangements re pension contributions with HMRC. A gross of around 10K per month is 120K per year, depending on your tax arrangements that is around 6.5k after deductions, you pay 60% tax between 100-125k unless you put some into a pension. 7k was the best month and may have been a tax underpayment, I'm not an accountant so I don't know. LTN is a Wizz UK contract, can't speak for the other contract types that apply elsewehere.

If you don't fancy it then don't apply, plenty of other DEC recruitment at the moment as long as you like Chinese food or deserts. Your choice.

Based on my roster for this month, expect around €130k gross year 1, probably a bit more in summer, bit less in winter, but due to the flight pay system if you end up on 6/2/6/7 you could be in for a nasty shock on the months you get 2 weeks off, which will be around 1 in 3. After 11-12 years you're reaching the same as some of the BA pay scales after 30 years by my reckoning, so this is where the benefit in moving to WZZ (alongside very good training) comes in.

With the aim being to keep a total taxable income below £100k plus FRE, I'd say there's adequate ability to do that.

Number crunched and I'm in the same position as now after 4-5 years, better off every year after that on a UK contract with just under 30 years to go. Bearing in mind bases with lower cost of living are available (take-home at several bases, both EU and non-EU is comparable to that in UK after tax), for the younger guys it's more than worth it, it's worth consideration even with a family. No constant 4 sector days but being home every night has to be one of the biggest advantages of staying if in.
