EasyJet UK FO Contract
Hi,
I am a pilot with EZY looking at transferring back to the UK from a European base. I have heard via rumour that the FO 75% contract from April is ending and all new transfers will be on 100% FRV contracts. Does anyone know how true this may be? Thanks! |
Perhaps ask this question in the easyJet private forum? Where it will be noticed considerably more easily by others. But no idea, due to a lack of FO’s in the UK everyone who wants 100% has it anyway. |
This is correct. And yes, we're very short of FO's, especially at HQ.

Just out of curiosity: are they still recruiting if they are that short of pilots?? There are no job openings on their website I applied for easy swiss but no reply so far except having the online test completed. |
I’ve been in the holdpool a year U.K. NTR FO and not had a call. I’ve spoken to them too and get the same old answer that they’ll contact in due course. |
Not sure but I transferred between 2 bases in the UK and was made to take 75% from being 100%. Even though the base I was moving to was short of FOs.
I accepted and before the transfer actually happened was sent an email offering 100% straight away. |

Slightly off topic (sorry), but has anyone joined EZY externally and been offered anything other than 100%? I remember hearing they were struggling to get people through the door with the 75% contract (quite rightly).

Technically the opposite is true. As a rated pilot you are bonded for the training you receive. As a non rated DEP you (FO’s) have to front the cost of the type rating up front costing the company nothing. As a NTR DEC the type rating fee is removed the salary each month for 36 months. Again costing the company nothing. Granted it takes longer to train a NTR pilot but being cheaper?? Not in this day and age! |
Airbus 330 rated but on a foreign licence!! 🤔 |
So yeah non rated - even if that 330 was on a EASA licence |
Apart from easy Swiss, the only active recruitment seems to be for ex Wow rated FO. As recent as last week though, there were a few NTR FO sim assessments at CAE LGW. I think the continued uncertainty over BREXIT is delaying future plans. However, with people leaving to BA and KLM etc. there will undoubtedly be a steady requirement for FO’s at least. |
From anecdotal evidence, we are short of FO's at Luton.

Yes they have taken on some new DEP NTR FO’s on the 75% contract recently. |
So they advertise it as full time and then offer 75%. Nice. |
Anyone on the inside have a ‘feeling’ for ongoing CP requirements at LGW & LTN? If a fair number of FO’s are leaving, presumably that will are a knock on affect for Command upgrades? |

Command positions are still easily filled internally, except Portugal. Also, hundreds of ex-Air Berlin FOs have now entered the command process with more than enough hours. |
