Hi, we currently have no slots in MAD, in Spain, we have BCN and then PMI, ALC, AGP, GRO on 75% seasonal contracts.

no, unfortunately there would be a very long list of people waiting for GOT/NYO as they’re relatively small and I believe already over-crewed

Hey guys, anybody knows how much a floating Captain can take home after taxes? And does this option have Annual Leave?

Thx for your time.

Salary under training

From first day, how long before you get the first paycheck?
I heard that you don’t get paid during the ground school. Is that true?

skyflyer737 30th Mar 2019 08:36

If you join on a Ryanair contract as an employee, you’re paid from day 1 of groundschool.

bringbackthe80s 30th Mar 2019 08:55

Why would you not be payed from day 1, and why would anyone turn up to work for free?

Anazing we got to the point of even talking about something like this

I'm sure that was the way with Ryanair and easyjet actually, reduced pay starts at line training and then full pay after line check. Or something along the lines of that.

All depends if you’re on a normal employee contract or not. If you’re a self employed contractor you only get paid once you start flying. Vast majority starting now are on a normal salary from day 1 in the company.

You don't fly during line training?!

I don’t get what point you’re trying to make. The guy had a question on when you start receiving a salary at Ryanair. Day 1 of groundschool if you’re an employee. Day 1 of line training (ie flying) if you’re a self-employed contractor. You normally have a choice of which contract you’d like to take.

Because the net pay you receive when you do start flying can be significantly higher than if you were on a ‘normal’ contract. I’m not here to get into a debate about the rights and wrongs of self employment but ultimately net pay of the self employed guys can, in certain circumstances, be a lot higher. Hence their acceptance of working ‘free’ for groundschool.
