Job options

Hi,
Looking for advice : Believe it or not I work for Air NZ and they have very kindly given me a 3 yr sabbatical. My position in the company is protected for me to come back to and I can do what I like for 3 years!
I have British, Irish and NZ passports. I have an expired UK JAR FCL ATPL as well as my current ICAO ATPL.
I have 14,000 hrs and 7,000 on A320 family of which 4,000 is Capt. Also 3000 on B 737 classic 800 PIC.
I’m 58, now single ( everything comes at a cost!) and no dependant kids.
Over Asia ( no disrespect intended - just been there done that) so looking elsewhere. Interested in Europe really.
Looking at Easy, emailed Parc but they didn’t get back to me, don’t really want to go to Ryan because I prefer to stay on the bus.
Do the Irish convert ICAO licenses to EASA. Seems that’s the license required these days? UK CAA are a nightmare, 4 weeks to get a response!!

What would you do?

I would if you can afford to do it financially take a year off and go explore Europe. Enjoy yourself whilst you can. Any bus option in Europe is pretty hard work.

BA is supposedly hiring 350 plus pilots over the next year. You need a contact to get your cv through the filter I think. EZY are looking for DEC.....

I would give Wow a go. A very different sort of flying around Europe and North Ametica

I heard/ read that Wow wasn’t the greatest gig. Dodgy accommodation and the locals don’t want you there? Anywhere in Europe is different to the Tasman Sea!
Accept that the work will be harder and more demanding, not many jobs like ANZ!
Just more concerned that I don’t work for someone who is about to go bust and that I get paid.
Any advice on license conversion would be helpful. As far as I can see, getting an EASA license through the IAA looks the best option.
Thanks

How long have your EASA license been expired? If less than 7 year and your ICAO license is current, I believe you just need to do a LST on the Bus and a current medical to renew the license. If more than 7 years expired, you´ll probably need some theoretical exams...

good luck

Thanks Randon,
The JAA license expired in 2013, but it was a weird “ valid for G reg only” license so not sure if that was EASA or not. It was issued under the old JAA era.

Eric
i got a PM from you but couldn’t reply as my inbox was full. A bit confused how to manage the mailbox tbh so ended up deleting everything by mistake!
If you PM me again I’ll try to reply again!
Cheers
