Hello Pruners,

Has anyone been through their recent assessment day at Bristol ? If so, would you be kind enough to let me know the contents of the day and about the Tech exam etc.

Not personally but I understand it's pilapt/compass type.

I'd seriously recommend you apply somewhere else as the company is in a bad way, although the management will say otherwise.
Short of crew, who have left in droves over the last two years, no pay rise in 8 years.
New joiners who start out thinking "this is better than my last job" soon realise that constant night stopping and max duty isn't fun and leave.

You'll likely get the tough talk from management pilots telling you it'll be lots of disruption and if you don't like it you can leave, which is exactly what a couple of direct entry people did recently.
Seriously, are you that desperate ? I can only assume you're low hours

Expect group tabletop exercise, 50ish question multiple choice technical (mid level atpl theory).
Competency panel interview.
Assuming they are still using the same process as last year.
Are you going for DEC or FO?
Have you done any online psychometric stuff?

Ditto what Contract40 said. Can be useful for some to transition from left seat turboprop to left seat jet. I went the other way, and my life is many times better (and better paid btw) for it. If you don’t have one and/or regard it as a stepping stone then consider it but with caution.

What a sad thread. This used to be a fab little outfit to work for 20 years ago. Not perfect, but a good stepping stone.
