take some time out and enjoy retirement - almost 60 and still want to make money - will you take it all with you.? There's got to be more to life

Jokes aside so long as you are able to be comfortable try to enjoy some hard earned time off.

If you are one who has sacrificed for aviation then so be it....Saudia is where you want to go

take it with you? wives 1/2 usually have everything!need to fly to eat(lol)

Why not go to China.. If you can survive the pollution and sit it out. Depending on you family situation and life style preference, I'd say look for one of the airlines with Shanghai or Kunming as pilot home base. Shanghai if you want cosmopolitan and western restaurants, bars etc. Kunming if more for the outdoors. But if you're keen on some travelling around the Asian region, probably Shanghai is the better option for connections. Shanghai would be a more expensive. There's also the Korean choices, not sure about the 767, maybe Asiana.

The main "issue" would be your age, sorry no offence tended (it's a good age!), the chinese companies have lots of restrictions and there's the bloody licence conversion issue. There's also Vietnam Airlines with either Hanoi or Ho Chi Min base. For the money - China it is.

Good luck mate.

Casa - I meant you aren't going to take it with you to heaven or hell..

China southern with Guangzhou base. Around 20000$ a month, 4 year contract. Good money.

No way. Stay out of middle East and saudia

I think most of the Chinese contracts won't accept almost 60.

Probably the best option is contact the contract companies directly, eg CREW, IASCO, Parc, + many more

60 is a bit late as most companies won't re-type after 55. Ok, NAS will if you have minimum 3 years left ( so they can get the bond I guess), but that is not earning, that is spending. Chinese have a saying along the lines : If you spend your health making money you will spend your money making health. You will not earn big bucks on the ground, but it may be worth a look..training management!

Just register with a contract agency - PARC is probable the least worst - and see what comes out. A mate registered with PARC at age 58 and is now working in China, despite the advertised age limit of 55.

But beware that Chinese, Japanese and Korean medicals are tougher than NASA's. Any issues with the ticker, or what they consider to be a high BMI will exclude you. My 58 year old mate is so thin, he makes most bicycles look overweight.

Yeah I know I was just joking that there sometimes is very little left, often despite a long fruitful career, if one has been through a divorce or two......I’ll be working until 75 or dead whichever comes first

Flap3 9th Feb 2018 03:26

In China you wont pass the medical with 60's being foreigner.....

Try Hong Kong Airlines .
$17000 per month . Taxed at 15% . They will take NTR onto A330/320. Work till 65 years then go to the sim until you die . If not before ;)

They pay lousy during training I believe but have taken DEC with RJ time only.

Hello to everybody!
Thanks for Your replies and recommendations! Looks like that I am unfortunately too old for China. Have registered with Parc, Risworth and Longreach, I continue to look
around. So if anybody has an hot idea, feel free! For the time I continue to fly the lovely 767.

That might be considered a good thing. They pay lots - but there's a good reason for that!

What about DHL in Bahrain, they often hire for the 75/76 and pay good tax free money? Believe you also get free housing?

I think it's a 57 year old limit
